I think that they want to secure online in this way the worst part of the assassin “Shadow” because it will be a failure, it’s 1000%
and create a false impression of the real online and most likely they will inflate it inside the studio artificially like “everything is fine with us, the game is cool” no, the game is crap!

I dont support the motives behind why theyd push for removal, but itd make sense for games that do not have multiplayer components, as well as singleplayer games in their first month, and in less granular population levels (ie counting thousands instead of detailed fluctuations only the developpers should themselves have access to). Steam is the only platform with a count and this could discourage publishers from releasing first on steam or even at all there. Like, if were not gonna make money here we might as well make it exclusive to our launcher and epic.

We never had an actual in the physical era and that let us buy and play games fairly insulated from any irrelevant controversies that bore no impact on the fun we had or game's quality. Nowadays there's subscription services (more players than owners) and the fluctuations mostly result in negative headlines causing even more negative headlines and costing sales.

What good does it do? Eh? What defense is it against publisher behaviour? what bad thing do player numbers prevent publishers from doing to players?

All it's doing is letting these people do this tardcore metagame on the Steam and try to sabotage every game that comes out because A) I don't fing know or B) because they want the price to drop.
