4090 fans\temp rocket sky high
A got old gigabyte 4090 from the start, but never encountered 88 degrees temp and fans going to 2700rpm...
This game is melting my pc.
Anyone else encountered this? im considering refund right now or is this normal.
I started from 4k all ultra setting RR and RT al ultra with DLSS DLAA quality and FG on.
I turned off RR and RT on medium, but the fans are still 2600rpm and its not normal, its too loud, i cant hear anything, playing at night, even in my AudioTechnica a50 earphones i hear the fans!!!

Perhaps just cap your FPS so that it's not trying to go full pelt all the time.

Tried it, but no luck. And i dont have constant 144fps as in desktop. WIth RR and RT ultra fps all upscales on, fps is around 80 average, with RR off and RT med fps are 120 average but same fans even if i cap it to 90 or 100.
I wont play in on 60 ofc, im a pc user not a console player.

Well, after some surf on reddit and other groups found that its a very common problem, fans on many cards go nuts and esp 4090, because of it full potential with RR and RT. There is no fix for this, even if u drop settings on low, and it hasnt been fixed since the problem stated about 3 september 2024.... nice steam release, thanks.
I would rather pass on playin this hellish game that can melt my gpu =))

Turn off rtx dl. it pactically eats all fps. Dunno what it adds in matter of quality.
Stable 80-90 fps on 2k, all high including rt, no upscaler (any). 4080s, fans on 1300-1400, load 95-98%.

Whats and rtx dl?
Did u try RR (raytaicing reconstruction) option on?

RTX options add a lot to reflections and corner shadows, these shadows become much softer and darker in way of volume.

DL = direct lightning. RR is related to DLSS and not to DL.
Practically I don't know what kind of sh_t this dl adds in this game, since game already packed with everything you need from modern tech.
I don't use upscaler since I play on 2k only. You can have any options you need but you can switch off that dl and add like 40fps to your current numbers, it was turned on by default for me.

My problem is not the fps, but temp spikes and fans working as if they would try to cool down hell itslef.
Believe me its very annyoing and barely audio playable =)

you need specific software like afterburner to proper tweak your gpu to consume less power and generate less heat. No tips here, cuz I never use such thing. Direct reason why your card generate much heat is power consuption over 300W.
You can have max frequency on gpu chip and over 95% load but power consuption only 150W for example and your gpu fans will stay silent.

Undervolting, yeh. I do that with mine. Drops the max temp at stress by like 10-20C and performance is the same. There's plenty of YouTube videos explaining how to and why you should do it (Search: Undervolt GPU). Stock settings use way more voltage than they need to.

Yeah, but fps will drop below 40...

The game has a big problem, reddit and other guys acknowledge it,
Ill drop it for now, there is no reason for me exhaust my gpu because of this game.
Darkrayne Nov 23, 2024 @ 5:04am
It is the same and often actually better since it doesn't need to throttle based on heat. If it wasn't for you then you didn't do what I'm talking about or did it wrong. That's not meant to sound as rude as it does.

I know some people just don't want to bother messing around with stuff like that though.
