Wear the emblem that gives you major fall damage reduction, then jump.

I don't think I ever lost a single bar of health while wearing that thing.

As for climbing, I cheated a lot and just hit C to speed up the down-climbing.

Or used the speeder bike from great heights.

That thing is indestructible if you have the landing reduction maxed out.
