Game Streaches to multiple montiors if screen resolution is lowered.
Visual Aid: https://imgur.com/a/fAEKOkP

I like running in borderless mode over full screen mode (full screen mode screws with multi monitor set ups something fierce) but ALSO wanted to experiment with resolution's affect on FPS.

It seems to be impossible to lower the games resolution in borderless mode (why? other games let you). So I decided to lower my screen's resolution from its native 4K to 1080p to see what would happen. Then when I launch the game and the attached happened. I could still exit but couldn't get to options or anything.

Fullscreen mode issue with multi-monitor is a known issue, which we will hopefully tackle sometime soon.

Borderless mode will use your monitor native resolution. This is normal behavior that you get in other games too. This mode is sometimes called 'Non Exclusive Fullscreen'. In short, it makes the game cover your entire screen, without having to change your 'video' mode.
If you had the ability to lower the resolution of the game in borderless, you would simply get a frame-less game window that does not cover your entire screen.

If you want to stretch your game over two monitors, the best ways are:
Either use Windowed, and manually stretch the window across both monitors.
Enable 'Nvidia Surround' (or AMD Eyefinity): your monitors will be seen as a single, bigger monitor, making borderless scale across them. I'm not sure how well this works with different resolutions monitors though.
The game "trailmakers" lets me set resolution below native even in borderless mode.

Not sure what they are doing exactly. maybe rendering in 1080 and then just doubleing the pixels? I can't say exactly what they're doing but there's definitely a way to do it.
What TrailMakers is a Resolution Scaling (similar to what other games have, like ETS2 or DOOM).
In short, the game can render in a higher/lower resolution internally, and then the image is scaled to match the window. Making the window size and the game resolution two separate beings.

This is not available in BeamNG.drive. Your resolution will match the game window, except in Fullscreen (aka Exclusive FullScreen)
