Purple Display Problem

I don't know how to explain it, but the entire screen gets shoved up into the corner at about 2/3 the normal size, and the background for everywhere else it's supposed to fill, is a bright purple. Does anyone know what the problem is or how to fix it?

Happens if the game could not pick the right resolution the first time you launch it.
Press ALT+ENTER until the game is in Windowed mode.
Then simply resize the window a bit. That should force the resolution to refresh and things to display correctly.
