Anyways, I hope you get it running again & can enjoy your play :)
i followed the advice int the article and let it proces the vulcan shaders (it indeed takes a lot of time), but after that is on the 100%, the steam UI shows blue text next to the play button that says the game is launching.
then that blue text turns green when it says running.
and right after that, the proces stops and the play button turns green again :(
I'm all out of idea's atm, the only other things I can think of, would be to search the web & maybe reach out to support...
i tried the experimental version of proton (and even older versions, just to be sure) but that didn t worked out.
however: i just found out (https://documentation.beamng.com/known-issues/) that it states:
* All issues related to Vulkan are applicable to Linux
wich made me think: this is just a problem of the beamng version.
on Linux systems, the vulkan shaders/proton layer is nr1 priority to make it work.
the proton version (8.0-4) is also used for other games, and those work fine.
seems like this is just a problem between proton and beamng.
so... i guess (until someone else finds the solution) that i have to wait for an future update that erases the fault between those two. :(
thanks anyway for helping
I literally just upgraded my ram from 8gb to 32gb JUST TO PLAY THIS GAME and it decides to not work.
