Steam Deck Crashes

So recently i upgraded my deck to 1TB. But ever since that BeamNG and My Garage randomly crash the entire device.

Hmm. It’s not launching its loading stuff. Such as cars or career mode. But sometimes it works, it crashes doing these things at random. What happens is that my screen goes blank and all I see is the backlight. Then eventually it will say verifying operating system and then relaunch.

Also no overclocking. Just Decky but I have disable most of the mods.

1, haven’t touched proton. 2 I’m in gaming mode. 3 in gaming mode I don’t have a launcher. So I’ll try in desktop. 4 and 5 no. I’m pretty new to proton so no idea.

sorry for the long wait btw. right, so you are using a native linux binary of beamng. which is where i unfortunately lack experience in, so if you prefer to stay on the native build - im really sorry i cant hehlp you here. as for the proton - you can find them in the game's preferences in the library, in the compatibility tab, pick the latest one, which is 8. to be completely honest, it is actually extremely complicated behind the scenes, it's a nightmare if you're hopping between different proton versions/prefixes, like its essentially like reinstalling windows, and you do have to literally delete stuff every time something stops working. so for now, choose wisely i guess haha, personally i have it working on proton 8 in beammp and kissmp, lcd revision of steam deck btw, so 7nm apu, in gaming mode via steamtinkerlaunch. 120+ fps with a few cars. i am mutually curious to help you as i want to try it on the native build myself

Well thanks for all the help. I have kind of veered away from playing it on there as well. I found other stuff.

Tbh the steam deck wasn’t really made for beamng drive (even though it supports it doesn’t mean it will do well)
My advice, if you can pull your budget I would recommend a laptop or a desktop.
