Its not easier, not by a long shot, but its ehh im used to it.
Yeah? What about mods that need other mods? It doesnt tell you before downloading you need other mods, you gotta look at the description to see what other mods you need, cant open links though oops gotta need to hope the search bar manages to find what am looking for.
But wait, ♥♥♥♥, the mod is not working! Well too bad theres no comment section, to warn or try to find out whats going on.
There are many other things, its usually the same thing for ingame workshops like these, im not saying its bad im just saying its uncomparable to the amount of QoL the steam workshops provide.
The only upside to the repository is not having to shift + tab while ingame to download mods... lol yeah
There are games that allow you to subscribe/unsubscribe from workshop mods as well as search for mods from within the game itself, without having to alt-tab nor shift-tab.
I have to agree with NickySins, workshop is vastly easier (and superior). However I am at least thankful that this game isn't using mod.io
Devs are also able to moderate their Steam Workshops. For example, compare the workshop for Wallpaper Engine (allows pornography) to the workshop for Rust (Doesn't even use the workshop for downloadable mods)
