BeamNG desperately needs FSR \ DLSS
This is not about perfomance, this is about extreme flickering on everything. Shadows, edges, LODs, fences, everything is shimmering as hell and hurt eyes a lot.

Even TAA will be a good solution, it helped a lot with shimmering in ETS 2, i think it can help here.

I've tried custom community DLSS mod, but it is not good, it should be implemented by devs.

Devs, please, do something with aliasing and flickering. SMAA is outdated as hell.

Yup. They need to stop screwing around adding things. Tidy up what's already in the game and career and call it 1.0 done!

The last thing any game needs is temporal vaseline smearing. Taa is utter garbage and should never be used.

It is option, not a mandatory thing. Dont like it - dont use it. In ETS 2 TAA greatly reduced aliasing and shimmering problem.

Many people do not know the difference between different aa. Many will select taa because it offers the best visual quality when nothing is moving, but then they'll have their visuals turned into mush as soon as any movement occurs.

Thats why i want DLSS or FSR. TAA is worse, no doubt, but for me it is better than SMAA.

Was gonna come here to search about this as I just got the game today, sure enough this was on the front page! :laugh_eol:

Yeah it's pretty jarring for everything to shimmer when settings are on ultra at a comfy 100+ fps.

TAA is the best non-AI anti-aliasing solution.

It does have the drawbacks of ghosting & blurring but they are barely noticable when implemented well.

No other non-AI anti-aliasing comes close to TAA while having little impact on performance.

TAA is the most disgusting smeary crap ever invented.
we need the good ol' MSAA.

U can use it, use DLDSR (it is better), but you GPU will burn and FPS will be low.

DLSS/FSR/XeSS will not give much since its very CPU heavy game but of course it would be amazing to have, especially since handhelds are getting more and more popular and it would help them the most.

Loseless Scaling works pretty nice with BeamNG, for anyone waiting i would strongly recommend it as temporary solution.

As i said, this is not about perfomance, but fixing extreme aliasing and shimmering.
They do need to do SOMETHING with the Anti-Aliasing. Way too many jagged edges.

Not sure the graphics API they are using supports that. Its not one of the main ones.
I'm 100% sure that Vulkan is compatible with DLSS. BeamNG have Vulkan (experimental, but still).
I am confused as to how upscaling will fix the jaggies. Even at 4k the AA isn't that great so rendering low and upscaling isn't going to fix anything. I think you want SSAA, downscaling from a resolution higher than native and most GPU software can do that but you'll need a beefy card. Like rendring at 6/8k and downscaling to 4k for super smooth edges.
