Are Beamng's configs, savefiles, settings ect saved on Steam Cloud? I need help with this topic and related issues.

I'm going to have to replace my computer's discs, both OS and storage, meaning there will be a complete OS re-install. Basically changing computers.

I noticed that Beamng uses the Steam Cloud so I'm asking if I install Beamng again, will the game be as it was with my old discs? Will all career savefiles, configurations, settings ect installed together with it, like it's done with other games?

If yes, awesome.

If that's not the case, will using the steam backup feature, to restore the game with that backup, do the trick?

Note that I don't know how the backup feature works, so could anybody explain what steam does, what kind of files it creates and how it restores the game through them? Thanks

Also I take this opportunity to ask, does this work with other games too? Because doing a backup is not really hard and I can do for the ones that don't have cloud support (maybe I'll do for all of them, idk).

And, for example, after getting my "new computer" ready and installing steam, if I plug in my HDD (where I install my steam games currently), will steam recognize the games inside and move them to the correct disc? This would be very handy and will not require installing anything at all!

"Why don't you install the new disc already, move the games, and then install the new OS and Steam?"

Well, what if Steam does not recognize the games? What will I do then?
