Whats the point of this game?

No in all seriousness what is the point of this game?

I see tons of videos and screen shots of cars crashing, but... No context is really given.

What do you do in this game? Also, how complicated is it? I would like to buy this game for my 9 year old son but I'm not 100% sure how complex it is.

You can modify parts and tune the cars in the vehicle config area. There is also BeamMP with may take some settings up but can allow you to play with friends if you are able to figure out how to run a server etc.
