As you can tell by the clickity clack, i am using a keyboard, so my driving isnt the greatest.
and when i tried beamng (demo version) driving feels like close to NFS underground 2 but with advanced physics and dmg model. so i would say its arcade game where if u crash/collide a bit game is over( and i pretty much like it)
a rogue-like arcade racing game^^
i would say try out wreckfest thats more simulator than BNG in my opinion since i disliked the game from minute 1.However wreckfest doesnt have realistic physics, u can still drive with a very heavily damaged car...something u cant do in BNG (or even in dirt rally i guess)
And we always build our cars as close as they are built in reality (from the chassis, to their single components).
About tire grips, we are always working on tuning and improving it.
We already compare our older tire models to a standard tire and we got similar results with both (nearly identical grip levels). But plenty of things can be done to improve this further (and we are).
Due BeamNG.Drive nature, you drive a car like you would do in reality.
If you go fast, you don't slam the thumbstick to one side, but make gentle steering correction, and so on.
Speed sensation is quite meh for now due the lack of motion blur (and possibly the 'low' fov used for 3rd person view).
The game may seems a techdemo atm due the lack of a concrete goal, but we are working on finishing the bases for the game before building up the actual 'main-mode' (which is being discussed a lot lately).
About VR, we have no plans for that ATM. We first need to improve the GFX Engine we are using before considering it. We previously tested it with DK1 (I believe), but then they dropped support for DX9 games (and BeamNG.Drive was one of them back then).
BeamNG.Drive is nowhere near an arcade racer.
It's a simulator.
Arcade means simplified driving mechanics.
Simulator is the opposite.
If you think BeamNG.Drive physics are near to the ones in NFSU2, I'm speechless.
Because driving in Wreckfest feelt after this update like purest arcade crap.
i felt the car handling similar when i drive it, the physics/damage model of course is nothing like NFS xD
