gearbox glitch

What nonsense is this? The gearbox was fine before the updates, but now after the update the manual gear changes from N to D, 2, 1. It’s a strange order of gear changes.
And I just can’t change gear to 3-6, is this some kind of glitch? I checked on different cars and turned off the automatic transmission, but this glitch is everywhere
What helped was this option: you need to delete the game completely and also in the document folder (AppData\Local) delete the entire the beamng folder where all sorts of configs are located, after reinstalling everything works!

you're driving a car with an automatic. The configs usually have (A) in their name, and manual ones have (M)

I don't think you've driven a real automatic car blud. It goes P, N, R, D, 2, then 1 from the top of the shifter.

That's because those are automatic cars 🤣 assuming you don't actually drive? Take a manual config (or swap out the transmission to manual). Then make sure to either bind a clutch button/axis, or enable the clutch assistant in gameplay settings. Or just press q to change the gearbox mode to arcade and it'll shift the manual for you

I’m telling you, before the updates, everything was fine with the transmission, the cars worked as they should, the transmission changed from 1-6 as expected, but now it’s all nonsense.

What the hell is this?? even all the trucks (I specifically drove an M, not an A) used to work as they should before the update, the gearbox changed as it should, but now it’s the same glitch as on all cars. Reinstalling the game didn't help. Has anyone encountered this?

I turned off all the auxiliary ABS options and supposedly reducing gear wear, nothing helped.

this sounds like a lack of understanding issue, not a game issue. automatic cars are p-r-n-d-2-1(usually), manual can be anywhere from 1-3 to 1-6 usually. the shift system did change with one of last few updates so you have to push the clutch longer to get a good shift. sounds like you need to enable clutch/throttle assistant and/or put the transmission mode in arcade mode instead of realistic. abs has nothing to do with shifting

Y'all need to actually read what Dmitry has been saying, guys... knowledge of how an automatic transmission works is not the issue here.

From the sounds of it, Dmitry has some sort of bug where all of the cars (even with specifically manual transmissions) are behaving as if they have automatic transmissions, even when they do not, and then the gearboxes are just breaking regardless. I haven't heard of this bug before but it sounds quite interesting (and annoying, for sure). Hopefully someone more knowledgeable about this sort of thing can help, but unfortunately I'm not familiar enough with how the game's backend works to take a guess at what might be going on.

This is how an actual automatic car is set up transmission wise, and that's what I was replying to. Also not much has changed with the gearboxes, I play on a controller and have my clutch set to a bumper and I can tap the bumper and get clean shifts without assistants.

This is how an actual automatic car is set up transmission wise, and that's what I was replying to. Also not much has changed with the gearboxes, I play on a controller and have my clutch set to a bumper and I can tap the bumper and get clean shifts without assistants.

guys, don't you want to listen to me at all? I write on all cars specifically M, I use M cars and not A, I even tried different trucks (M), the same glitch! People open your eyes

do you have mods enabled? have you tried deep clean? i did see that you did install. did the settings mentioned get changed? is that all that got weird or did anything else? how long ago did you last play?

I never installed mods, I reinstalled the game by simply deleting it via Steam, please tell me more in detail and what kind of deep cleaning method is it?

when the window pops up after you click launch there is support-cache clean-deep clean. also, when is the last time you played before this? and did you check the settings that i and others have mentioned?
