Buying a PC for beamng
I want to invest in a desktop, however I want something that I can play beamng with comfortably or more than comfortably. I don't know much about computers, and my budget is flexible however I don't want/need a nasa computer.

Any and all suggestions are super appreciated!!!!

Well if i were you, the first thing i'll do is buy a 64 GB memory card, or better!
This game eats up a lot of your ram, so having a bigger one can be a very good idea! Since 16 is clearly not enough for me.

Then i would probably focus on a new heavy duty PSU. And if you want a better graphics card then well, you obviously need to upgrade your PSU again.

Honestly, just make sure that you can balance all these components out.

16 isnt enough for me either, but at least 32 recommended imo.
really depends on the price range your are aiming for
but pretty much any modern i5/ryzen 5 + 32 GB ram + decent mid range graphics card should be plenty

if you dont plan on playing with a lot of traffic/multiplayer a 6 core should be enough, but if you do 8 or 12 would be better

beam is fairly old, my 7 year old pc with a ryzen 5 2600 and rx 590 could run it at a consistet 60 fps at 1080p medium settings

A setuo that would do fine for now would be something like that:
16 GB RAM (DDR4)
Ryzen 5 5600X
GTX1070

If you want more power i'd choose those components (for keeping it somewhat at Budget)
32 - 64 GB RAM
Ryzen 5 5700X
AMD Radeon 6700XT or 6600XT

My specs currently are the following and i'm running that game w/o any issue with more that 125 Mods installed, and more than 8 Cars in Traffic with High Graphicssettings (Resoloutin = WQHD manually Capped at 100fps):
64 GB DRR4 RAM from Crucial at 4200MHz
Ryzen 5 5600X
AMD Radeon 7800XT

And DO NOT buy intel 13th and 14th Gen, they're currently heavily flawed many gamedevs are even warning about those CPU's, Fortnite as example is even offering Guides how make those CPU somewhat stable. To do so, you'd have to sacrifice about 10-15% of it's performance. 12th and presumibly 15th Gen shall be fine tho.

I wouldn't get a Ryzen 5000 anymore, it has literally no upgrade path

on a tight buget and if you dont care about upgrading they are still a solid option, at least until we get ryzen 9000 and ryzen 7000 drops in price and becomes the low end

but yeah, since the price is flexible a better option would definitely be ryzen 7000

But i do understand?

you do NOT need 64GB of ram to play. 32gb is enough for nearly every game.

make sure you get a good CPU, too. this game's very intensive on that
evanmoosterhuis Jul 30, 2024 @ 3:21pm
i use 128 gb of ram and a 8 vram card
evanmoosterhuis Jul 30, 2024 @ 3:21pm
you can make a pc on pcpartpicker
AGM LEADER Jul 30, 2024 @ 3:36pm

I don't think you understood what he said. He is giving advice, like how the OP requested, especially considering the OP didn't give a budget or wanted parts. His advice is actually very solid and can work for all games or a PC in general.
