No. There's no plans for a console release atm.

Absolutely not. And there will never be a console release for BeamNG.

eh
they also said they'd never do vr support either
if it did happen it wouldn't be for another decade at this rate lol

Yeah, maybe when the game is done or close to done and by then we might be looking at the PS6 and Xbox whatevers.
Plus VR has grown quite a bit since the launch, but console gaming kinda hasn't with pretty poor or mediocre sales with current gen consoles.

A console release for BeamNG.drive is very unlikely. Especially considering that modding is not possible on consoles (even Bethesda locks their mods through a paywall on consoles).

"Ummm, Actually"
Modding on Consoles is fine as long as they go through a service. Snowrunner for instance uses Mod.IO, and since BeamNG uses its on baked in Repo, it wouldn't be a problem.
Plus, since no licensed vehicles are accessible through Repo (IIRC) they don't have to worry there either.
Bethesda.... well... their greed knows no bounds.

I do think we are quite a long ways from a potential console release though. updating a game on console seems to be literal pain. haha

Yes, but they're a chosen few. 90% of the games on consoles can't be modded. And even if it were the possibility, a console won't be able to handle the graphical demands of the game itself. Especially considering the amount of cars and props being spawned which can overwork the console.

Not for lack of possibility, but I do think the game would be a bit performance heavy on a console in its current state. ...Aaaand (like Snowrunner) they would probably have to lock the amount of mods you could even activate for the sake of performance.

Either way, we are certainly on the same page of on PS5? Not likely unless the game gets suddenly much much closer to 1.0 release.

I have a PS5 myself, but for a console release for BeamNG is still very unlikely. Plus the devs would have to severely limit the features to ensure it runs well on consoles, and with so few achievements, trophy hunters will definitely turn it away.

this game would fry consoles lol
flugga48 Jul 8, 2024 @ 4:35am
it will most likely not exist in the near future

The PS5's specs aren't really that great for BeamNG so if they were to port it over there'd be a lot of optimization to do

There is some YouTubers that already had managed to play beamngDrive with a Ver Headset and with a Steering wheel.
Current gen consoles would struggle running 1080p high no traffic.

Did you not read the dates? It's over 6 months old, of course things have changed.
