Why don't you use the PS5 controller on the pc? I preferred the xbox controller until I got a wheel.
if it don't work by then, enable steam input and load some PS genering pad layout, or customize :D
steam suppors so many pads
a PS5 could never run this game, and IF it could, it would be very laggy / dumbed down.
knowing exactly what hardware the game will run on makes it much easier to properly optimise games
beam(being a pc release for years) would not have that. making it pretty unlikely that it would run significantly diffrent than a PC with equivalent hardware (which would be equivalent to a mid range pc from a few years ago). Also that 16 GB shared memory would NOT do good things for the games performance
as already mentioned-you can plug a controller into your pc without issues and you should just do that until(if it will even happen) beam gets a console port
if you need 8+ gb to store all the nodes and beams for the softbody physics you need at least that ram or you will start stuttering. with a lot of the consoles memory being for the GPU that will cause problems
also one of my points was that beam is already a fairly old game
it released all the way in 2015. i really doubt they would do a lot of (if any) fundamental reworking to make it run properly on consoles.
Especially with the engine they are using being very obscure and not getting nearly as much development as many others(especially with all the custom code beam devs put on top of it
thats what im saying. and the games that run good on ps5 were limited to what specs the ps5 has. the developers kept those specs and limitations in mind when making a game for (or to run on) the ps5. - beamng in its core is a game thats very resource heavy to achieve the maximum realism possible - porting it to ps5 would require alot of simplifications on the physics end, graphics end, and probably content end. i dont think, that with the track record these devs have of pushing the envelope of simulating physics, they would be willing to do that.
Physics based games need strong CPUs too much for consoles.
