VR in 2024
Hello, I have seen this game got an update about 6 months ago to add experimental VR support. Many videos and reviews from around that time, seemed to be a hit-or-miss somewhat shakey experience, but I can't find much content for VR mode in its current state. Does anyone have much experience with it now 6 months later, or even better some video reviews of it? I want to buy this game but I'm only interested in VR driving.

if you're only interested in vr driving, this isn't the best game for you. vr is still unstable

The VR experience still clunky with the UI and QOL wise. Need more time to improve because it is not really out of the box ready.
However, to drive around in BeamNG VR can be a extremely enjoyable with wheel. I have not experience crash but some fps dip.

Disagree. I use it constantly and it rocks.
The only issue is that the LOD of the objects gets messed up, even with all graphic settings on max. I downloaded a mod that allows tweaking that.

Running on a RTX3060.

Ive played it in VR A LOOTTTTT and had zero issues. Its great, the only problem is centering the camera when activating it some times. Other wise you'll be under the map.

It looks good, looks clean, plays just fine for hours. :D
its the same game, but in VR
in first person its great, in third person its awful
the UI is the same in the VR and normal version, which for me on controller is completely fine
the only issue ive had is flickering in loading screens, otherwise its stable and runs fine

I drive in VR too and enjoy it very much.
If you get VR you better spend some time setting up graphics.
And activate your VR headset (Ctrl + numpad 0) as the first thing you do when entering the game. That’ll give you the best performance.
Another thing. When changing graphics you better restart the game to see the true result.
I wish you good luck and fun.

When I started the Quest2 with high in-game image quality and the settings were 3712 x 1888/90HZ and STEAM VR 100%, the RTX3090 GPU usage was 80% and VRAM 12.8GB. With Quest2, flickering occurred on the screen, so it occurred even though I lowered the image quality to medium or low and lowered the GPU usage rate, so I decided that it would be difficult to play on Quest2.

Play with INDEX using RTX3090 PC with in-game image quality and high 100% 80HZ.

The map settings are the same, with the 4090 the GPU usage is around 40 and 180W, while the 3090 is 310W with the GPU usage around 70. The VRAM is about 9.8GB, so if you look at the 3D score, I think it will work with a 4070/4070S.

its not bad but not best experience, so much object trees flickering, graphics not great on ultra. I am not very hyped after having tried but its ok.

I didn't have any of that happen on my end. Which I also used a link cable for the meta and other wise also had a wired Vive Pro as well.

I had things maxed as far as they'd go! Looked amazing really.
