Low FPS in car camera after latest update
After this last April2024 update my framerate has considerably worsened. Now the framerate drops considerably when i switch to the in-car camera in any car (game turns the ui tach/speedo off). Theres a big difference from inside and outside/hood views and now its really noticable.

I kept mods disabled and reloaded my most wanted mod, then deep cleaned cashe and verified integrity with the launcher and that didn't do much of anything fps wise.

I use the regular load, tried the vulcan launcher before asking here but that ran worse overall.

Low preset, with texture filering changed from 4x to zero. Partial shadows enabled.

On the east coast map i get 50-70FPS outside the car, now 30-40 inside the car, after this update, so when i do my missions now with any AI it dips into the twenties and the games unplayable like that.

Playing on a ROG Ally Z1 Extreme at 1080p windowed, turbo 35 watts on the dock with output cloned to a 1080p tv, win11 local account tweaked as far as i know how on boosting framerate but any tips on boosting framerate to make it playable again would be greatly appreciated.

I don't want to have to use lowest settings for textures because the game looks like GTA san andreas at that point, and heres hoping that the devs do something about it.

Check the mirror settings and reflection settings. They currently are one of the biggest performance hits to the game.

I tried playing again and now there seems to be no difference in framerate between in car and outside cameras, running a good 30-50fps all round again. My GPU utilization went down while running the mission from 96% to say 85% unless paused.

I think something could have been running in the background or the driver / shader cashe got fixed after a second reboot.

The game decided it wanted 4X texture filtering on its own, or something to do with the way the AMD driver adapts to games on this device. Second reboot and playing the game seemed to fix it on its own.
