Open World Free Roam
Won't it revolutionary to stream the entire world with Bing or Google maps. You have the option to place you vehicle anywhere in the actual world and free road a 1:1 scale. The roads can be generated as per a global map system. The detail doesn't have to be perfect. But it would make driving around your favorite roads amazing, and you also have the ability to explore the real world in real time-scale. Just like Microsoft Flight sim, but with BeamNG physics and cars.

I would love to see this. Or maybe have an app where you can select a certain area in a city and it will automatically create the map using the 3D image system that Google Maps can create (would be even better if it used the 3D photos that the Google Car took as it drove round). :)

unrealistic. Microsoft Flight sim is not rendering the whole world in 3D and in detail. Because you are spending most of your time high up in the sky, while Beam would have to render it in some kind of detail all out of google maps imaginery which is not possible.

I wouldn't say it's impossible, I'm sure it could be done some way, albeit very difficult indeed. I remember a while ago there was a Pacman thing where it used Google maps looking down on the map to use it as the maze or something. That was quite good.

maybe it's possible, but it's way too ambitious for an already very ambitious game. The time and money investment are not worth it. At best we'd probably get like a Crew level of detail on the map which is not all that great, I'd rather have the devs focus on making smaller real-life inspired maps with great detail.

Totally agree. I wonder if there would ever be a game that would use Google Maps 3D as a game in the future.

Imagine being able to pick a place to start driving and then just drive around the area.... (Most people would pick their own street lol).

My thoughts were to have it stream the map as you drive through, rather than download/install them. :)
