In addition, you don't need to use the keys to activate VR: you can also go to Options > Display > VR and click the button there :)
Awesome. Well done devs!
-Does not work with opencomposite.
-needs steamvr
-without VR it will ask you if you wanna run it in normal mode or vulkan.
-Normal mode it will tell you that you need vulkan to run it in VR..
-if steam vr is running it won't ask you how you wanna run it. It will tell you the game will be started in VR!
-IT DOESN NOT WORK IN VR.... if steam vr runs then automatically starts it in normal mode.. not vulcan. WTF?
-Close steamVR. Start the game. Then start VR.. .finally it works.
It could not be any harder.
Btw first time it ran fine. I did not change the graphics from my usual pc settings and I was getting like 30some fps. (3080ti)
I wanted to lower graphics. Game crashed. Restarted everything. It's been unplayable since. fps keep jumping back and forth between 0 and 40ish
You probably missed the part where it says it's experimental
Didn't miss it. Still a hot garbage.
-start steam vr
-launch game
-choose vulkan
-load a map
-press ctrl + num0 (rebind if needed)
-accept the popup box
-press ctrl + num5 to recenter (rebind if needed)
-stonks
Unsure about opencomposite, it has definitely not been part of our tests, on this first release we're aiming at the most basic compatibility, which as you have noticed requires more work still before we go into the rarer 3rd party software compatibility.
Thanks for the feedback, and please use more appropriate tone :)
You can also check the list of Known Issues for workarounds: https://documentation.beamng.com/known-issues/
I was running the openxr runtime and I had to switch back to steamvr to be able to play in vr on my reverb G2...
-"To use Windows Mixed Reality headsets, you will need to set SteamVR as your default OpenXR runtime to bypass the missing Vulkan support in WMR drivers."
There is a lot of information there, please read it before asking the same thing over and over again here.
