Steering/Throttle delay
Hi guys.

I'm really enjoying this game, but recently something happened and I cant find a solution. Out of nowhere, my game decided to suffer from a 1-2 sec input lag/delay/stutter on my steering, throttle and brake axis. Sometimes I can see that inputs don't even register on the UI app if I blip the gas or brakes, due to the lag.

If I rotate the wheel back and forth slowly, I can see on the UI Steering App that my steering has a delay and a stutter. The issue is between the game and my G27, not the frame rate or vsync. I run ultra settings at 120fps in Johnstone Valley. I play a lot of sim racing games and this is only an issue I've dealt with in Beam, it is not a present issue for me in other games.

As it is the game is basically unplayable in this state because the cars lack input. Ie, you steer to the left to full lock and 2 seconds later it stutters to 60% and then 80% lock, then 100%. It's not smooth or consistent.

If anyone can help me shed some light on this issue I would be so grateful. I've reinstalled Ghub, Profiler, Beam... started fresh new axis settings, new FFB settings, tried default settings.... Nothing I do makes any changes.

If anyone can help please let me know what I can do!
Thanks,
Paul.

Does it still work well in other games?

I got the same issue bud. It only happens for Beam. I also have FFB issues where the wheel keeps trying to recentre itself. (I'm running a g27). And again, the only sim game giving me problems is Beam, all my other games are fine.

thanks for the replies. as stated in the original post this issue is only present in Beam.
Dirt, Assetto, and all my other driving games work 100% as intended. It's frustrating because I submitted a ticket to Beam Support and they just advised me to follow their official setup guide, which didn't solve anything. It's like trying to report a bug and being told it doesn't exist.

Go into Appdata/Local then delete Beamng folder and relaunch the game, it will reset everything on the game but keep in mind your mods and custom configs will be gone so don't forget to restore them. If the problem is only present in beamng this will most likely solve your problem. Also V-Sync might be the reason you have lag.

Don't delete, rename. That way if it doesn't help you can restore stuff you want back that you would otherwise have to recreate from scratch; and even if it does help, some stuff might still be restorable without bringing the issues back..

That sounds horrendously, terribly broken. I had never heard of the in-game steering wheel taking a whole 2 full seconds to mimic the real life steering wheel O_o. My measurements have always yielded around 50ms to 140ms worst case (depending on screen brand and fullscreen setting).

Can you please do the following:
- Submit a support ID number https://supportid.beamng.com/ and paste it here.
- Mention which exact brand+model of screen you are using in the test (I know you said it only happens in beamng, but I want to know how bad or good your screen is wrt input lag, so I know how much that part contributes to the 2 seconds of lag).
- Record a video that shows at the same time: real wheel + virtual steering wheel + "Simple Steering" UI app + "FFB Graph" UI app. Simply move the steering wheel from side to side a bunch of times.

Thank you!

I have the same problem in fortnite and beamnG drive, I tried all the guides but it didn't help, my laptop's specifications are very good so I have no idea what could be causing this state of affairs, it only happens when walking and building, analogously to beamG, I have a problem with acceleration but not with mouse movement

I fixed this for myself by plugging my ts300 into a different usb port. usb3 and 3.1 was the same input delay (only when ffb was enabled. ffb disabled worked fine) but changing to an old school usb port (not blue) let me enabled ffb and the seconda of input lag disappeared

Weird because most people recommend using USB 2.0 for wheels. I use it for my TMX and have no delay.
