Engine thermal debug app, expanded.
With the fire debug app you can set and extinguish car fires, so why can't we increase/decrease part temperatures with the thermal debug app? It would make detailed mod engines a lot easier, and being able to manually cool down your radiator when it busts after lighly bumping a pebble readily availible.

Maybe someone can mod that in? Surpirsed it isn't canon.

The debug app is meant only to show the data regarding the thermals, not to let you control them. Even if it would be possible to raise/lower temperature manually, that won't help modding, as you can't save/make fixed those values.

I mean to tweak thresholds and find out engine limits. So instead of modders manually having to strain engines, crack radiators, see how long it takes to break etc, they can just click a button and work from there to figure out what to tweak.

Hello,

what exactly are you trying to achieve with? The thermal system is quite complex and "just" increasing any temperature probably won't lead to the effect your are going for.

For example "being able to manually cool down your radiator" won't work like that as the engine will still overheat if there is not enough cooling capacity left.
The thermal simulation is not just some numbers going up or down, it's a heavily intertwined simulation based on real heat transfer physics.

Maybe I can give you better help if you explain your goals in more detail :)

I don't need help, thanks. All I want is exactly that, to 'just' increase certain temperatures or lover them, and yes I know it will or won't go up and down as per the simulation. But I also mean being able to manually blow gaskets, crack or repair radiators, see what damaging piston rings does to a vehicles performance, all that jazz.

Look, I'm obviously not going to get what I'd like, so I'm going to just let the thread die. I appreciate the help though.
