that said i think it plays much better with a gamepad.
Also "a basic input command script that will work on all wheels" shows me that you have never even attempted to program controller support for anything as each controller often has vastly different input recognization by Windows.
Kindly stop posting complaints until you have any mild understanding of how game development works, thanks.
The developers HAVE already spent time to implement automatic loading of input maps for many wheels:
254.362377|Logitech DFGT mapping loaded
254.362445| - trying to load mapping via VendorID/ProductID: scripts/client/inputmaps/c29a046d.inputmap.cs - SUCCESSFUL
I'm glad you can afford a $1,200 wheel and 543 games, maybe you can afford then to pay someone to make an input map for you?
It could use some force feedback and a bit more finesse with the pedals, but it does work pretty well at the moment. For other older and/or less popular wheels, it may require some tweaking though.
Just played it with my wheel and pedals and it has Analogue braking and gas, I was feathering the gas around bends, holding it at various throttle positions, it was amazing, maybe you have played an older version.
Google, it's a great thing. Also, what makes you think their priorities are wrong with how they've developed this? They could take a LFS approach and let you bind axis and buttons ingame and make mappings that way however they are, you know, working on the game engine and content that can be used in it.
It's Alpha. Hold your ♥♥♥♥ in and don't spew us with it until it's a finished product. They've heard this all too much for.
Your wheel on the other hand is not generic. It's specialized with it's own set of drivers to translate what the hell it's doing with all it's axis' and buttons. So no, they haven't made a preset for you yet. You're one of those special guys that gets to make their own. You can't say basic wheel and pedal support if a chunk of devices all work differently. You may end up seeing your steering wheel as your throttle, and who really wants that?
I'm trying to understand your expectations. You can make your own maps for now, let them develop their game. The issue isn't even support, it's the fact it doesn't have a GUI to make it so easy for you to setup.

Look here, do a bit of searching, and put it to use. You're starting to come off as a troll, you're apathetic to the gameplay itself and keep whinging about "proper support for your controller."
Find a map and use the thing until they make the GUI functionality to help you map it yourself.
