i highly dislike the concept of paid mods

that is all, i merely wish to express my views on paid mods, i cant scroll through either the ingame repository or the forums for even five minutes without seeing three or four paid mods, all of this feels like it's going to go the way of bethesda with their paid mods for fallout.

yes, crashhard's a part of it too, he makes a full version of his dummy mod and makes us pay for it

bro i saw a skin mod that took AT MOST a day to make and the dude was asking 4 euro for it, its getting out of hand, people are asking for money just because they know they can get away with it, its going to overflow with low quality mods that are outdated, all of them asking for money for something that wont even work in the next update.

Yeah paid mods have never been a thing for the past like 12 years of beam and ROR until the Raven came out, and never took off until the Picnic made its creator a couple grand, then suddenly everyone wanted on the bandwagon and anyone who didn't like it gets dogpiled. Literally "They can do what they want, you're not allowed to complain".

SCS software doesnt alow paid mods on their forums
That dont mean it doesnt exist but it just isnt on any official forums

One of the less based things I've seen the Beam devs do. It'd be great if this were clamped down on before every single mod of any significance has to be downloaded from some weird donation site for £3 or more.

Paid mods are definitely a no go, what even worse is that sometimes the free mod gets deleted by the author just so he can force people to pay for it MONTHLY, i mean if it was a one time payment it would been more legit but monthly 5 or 10$ for one or two mods are just a scam.

ikr like jsz forcing you to pay for the etk k series facelift, and likely the zephyr (the airbag mod he created, it was taken down by beam moderators but is now working on it again), will likely be like £50, it's just chaos.

All mods used to be free, and now suddenly we have to miss out on like two thirds of the good mods coming out if we don't wanna pay for them.
