Why no real life car brands?
I have been playing this game for a while. The cars are perfectly alright, but why no actual real life car brands in the game? (Honda, BMW, Ford, Dodge, Mazda, Chevrolet, Mercedes-Benz, etc) I am just wondering, not complaining about the current stock cars though.

Mods exist for that. Otherwise the devs can't afford to purchase licensing rights to real life car brands.

well theres more then one explanation to this, but yeahh it would cost a lot to have the liscencing of any brand, and beamng is a small team with limited budget i would guess, also i dont think any car compagnie would be happy to see there car being destroy to pieces in a game, that would give a bad image of a brand, also even tho beamng is accurate alot when it come to crash, it will never be 100% accurate soo this alone could givea bad image to any car compagnie and they wont accept that im sure.

None of those want to see their cars crash. Would affect sales.

EDIT: so they never allow it. In any game.

I've never understood that. Unless their cars aren't as good as they make them out to be if you used the real life data. From crashed etc.

yeah i agree with you. some real life cars would have been perfect but licenses are expensive and i don”t think that car brands would allow their cars to be used in crash tests.
Licenses are expensive. Not enough money to pay for licenses.

lol so forza and gran turismo have licensed cars and we can crash those cars. Because crash. Realistically car companies want the advertising because its going to boost sales not because crashing cars is going to devalue their brand.

Anyone with a braincell is going to realize crashing at high speed causes damage to a vehicle its not going to devaule a car brand by doing so.

F1 had its wing break when you crash, now id doesn't because sponsors were getting angry cause if that breaks you didn't saw them anymore. ETS2 doesn't have a crash model because manufacturers say that will bring a bad image for their brand. So I assume if truck manufacturers don't consider crashed trucks to bring a bad image for the company, car manufacturers will also say the same thing. Its not about not having money to afford licences, its literally that no company would accept that

you're wrong. First of all "you can crash those" yeah but the crash model is just a couple scratches, no deformation. Secondly its same story as for ETS2

also those are arcade racing/driving games which may exaggerate a cars performance, while beamNG is a realistic simulator which entices the player to crash the cars

Plus, some manufacturers don't want their cars to appear on any media that potentially depicts illegal street racing or another criminal activity (GTA series being a major example)

that is of course unless they pay a hefty fine. (in movie for example)
