Use steamplay/proton, it should work. Enable it in steam settings -> steam play, for all other titles.

You still probably can, there are a couple ways to run windows on a mac. I used one for beamng originally.

Not necessarily. I assume what you're trying to say is that if they can afford a mac, they can afford a pc, and I agree that a macs are expensive. However, there are always certain exceptions. It's possible OP is using a shared pc that he doesn't himself own, or maybe he spent his money on the mac, doesn't wanna sell it, and therefore can't afford a pc. There are more scenarios, too.

i specifically meant the scenario where, they specifically bought a mac for themselves. but worse yet, if they saved up for a computer for it to be a macbook pro.

I agree that, in that scenario, a pc would be completely viable over the mac. But considering he didn't look to see if beam was mac compatible before purchasing it, leads me to believe that either he didn't weigh the options when making a PC purchase, or, because I don't think OP is braindead, he didn't make the purchase.

if you're planning to play games, pcs will always be the most viable to option
