Honest Review
Game is a bit pricey. The controls are also way too complicated to learn. Stopped playing and uninstalled soon after buying it. Worst 25 spent:steamthumbsdown:

You know, this is the first game I got on steam, and with over 400 hours, its a pretty good game, I've gotten used to the bugs, like how when I grab a certain node and pull aggressively, it crashes. I only use mods to make my playing better, and whoever is writing this right now, is solely annoyed that a great game is receiving so much disrespect. No I not a Karen, I just really like this game.
you know you can write a review like the rest of us instead of blocking up the discussions tab. i have no interest in arguing with you about your opinion, and i dont think many others do either. i disagree, but you're not going to shift your opinion based off what i say because you just dont like the game. i have no issue with your opinion this just isnt really the place for it. write a review.

STOP FEEDING THE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ TROLLS.
i don't understand the problem, i have had the game since mid 2014 and well over 1000 hours between mine and my brothers profile, i have used keyboard, steam controller, PS4 controller and a Logitec G29, all with no issue, i guess if the chosen controller is calibrated correctly and you assign your controls

didn't cost me a penny because it was free until relatively recently but i would happily pay if i had to, people pay £60 per year to get the current FIFA that has not changed for 10 years, you paid 25 for a game that you will not have to purchase again, its not like they update it once a year and expect you to pay for it again

This game is not made by some scumbag money grabbing company like EA
I remember before all the (possibly obvious) money greed but it's a company so it will still be doing it if the people will only just stop buying their stuff

Amazing how many people you baited, lol. What are your PC specs? What OS are you using? Are you running mods? all of these need to be awnsered before anybody can be of any help,

How did you come to that conclusion? How do you know they are a 'non car guy'? Curious.

So you resort to disrespectfully insulting their intelligence because they'd like things to be a little easier to manage for novices? Have you ever thought for a moment that some people do actually have reading impairments?

I guess you've never heard of developmental dyslexia, alexia (acquired dyslexia), and hyperlexia (word-reading ability well above normal for age and IQ).

Also, if you looked at their profile or took even a moment of your time to understand the people in the community, you'd see that ♨o'nasau♨, seems to be into Japanese. So, that means English may not be their strong point as a primary language. Sometimes language translation files in software aren't so good.

I bet neither of you gave any of that a single second of thought before spattering your fingers across the keyboard like vultures looking for prey. Am I right?

It's strange how some members in certain communities feel the need to belittle or berate people when those people express an opinion or view that doesn't parallel their own.
Let's just be honest here, your just relying on stupid excuses to bring the game down. 0.5 hours of playtime and some hours in BeamMP. I would advice you to get into playing the game more than talking ♥♥♥♥. I have seen tons of people like you, complaining and in the end not even having experienced the game. Bugs do happen pretty often in BeamMP, tho not in BeamNG. Having over 400 hours of playtime, I can assure you that this game is pretty easy to understand. And I have played BeamNG for multiple years. You don't need to be a genius to assign controls. They could make the game a lot harder to understand. But are they doing it? No. If you're just going to complain about the being "too hard to understand" I'd advice to just use your brain a tiny bit and just type on your keyboard like a mad man, trying to complain.

There is a level of complex features, but beyond that you can generally get going pretty quickly. If you're using keyboard controls it's a nightmare to drive so having a controller / wheel is essential. There are problems with controllers though (game bugs, glitches, etc.). There are some pretty bad problems with the UI too where configuration changes won't show until you leave a menu and go back to it. There's other UI bugs too, but I won't get into that since that isn't what this discussion is about.

You can get going pretty quick if you've got a controller that dodges the game bugs not having to deal with too much complexity of configuring things - other than the basic calibration of the controller being used, but that's no help when the game's got bugs that prevent things from being set up properly. If you're one of the lucky ones to not get controller game bugs it's fun. Fighting the game / sim to get started driving isn't fun. I've tried their troubleshooting suggestions and all sorts of stuff with no resolve to get passed this game's controls and / or UI problems.

I've given up for now until they fix all that. Can't waste my days trying to make their software work properly. Life is way too short for that. Got better things to do with my time. UI and controls problems are not good for games / sims trying to make it through Early Access successfully. People gonna walk away eventually.

Give it a few more years see how things develop. That's really all a person can do. They've got close to 50 employees. 20 of them are programmers. The game was initially released as a tech demo on August 3, 2013. On 28 May 2012, BeamNG released a YouTube video titled "Revolutionary soft-body physics in CryEngine3". So, it'll be at least 9 years this August this software has been in development.

Myself I'm not playing anymore until I see some great changes with this game / sim. in regards to improvements and content. This isn't to say it's a bad game / sim, but it does show that this company's ambitions aren't a top priority with this software.

Many problems that exist today simply shouldn't and the pace of development is very, very slow. I've got 0.5h on record so I still have the option to refund it anytime should I decide this project is doomed to forever be Early Access. If I don't see any real vast improvements in a year's time I will refund. 10 years is ample time for a company this size to complete a game.
you do know this aint a tradional game so to speak its more like a tech demo/game that could be used in other future games or parts of the physics used in other games
me myself think the devs have done wonders to beamng over the years
and will look forward to what spawns from it :)

This. its not a normal ''game'' with objectives, missions, a story, etc. its kind like garys mod, you gotta have a little bit of creativity. I just enjoy watching cars roll over at 160mph in slow motion. So i normally load a map, find a good spot where theres a 'bump' to unsettle the car, or i place a ramp, and boom. Hours of fun. Every once in a while i'll do a time trial, or a scenario. Offroad cars that are not desiged for offroading, customize and tune cars, etc.

Use that noodle between your ears and you'll enjoy the game, hell you dont even need to do that, sometimes i just mindlessly drive around with traffic.
