UI not responding; what else can be done besides disabling AV?
I'm getting it randomly at times, sometimes when I'm trying to apply different tuning parameters to car, and sometimes something goes wrong and I consistently cannot finish loading any mode, I get the crash before the 3D stuff even start showing...

disabling AV for a game is the stupidest thing one can do anyways. are your drivers up to date?
Poison Dart Frag Mar 28, 2021 @ 3:30am
Yeah, no updates available for drivers and such; I'm on Linux though. Everything had been working fine for quite a while, but then the issue started happening, and getting more and more frequent.

I'm on linux too and never had such issues. Which version of proton are you using? What video card are you using?

I believe it's set to use the latest, 5.13 if I remember correctly.

My GPU is a GTX 1070

Try proton experimental or one before 5.13
Poison Dart Frag Mar 29, 2021 @ 2:21am
Switching to 5.0 seems to have fixed the issue for the moment, lets see if stays that way.

Thanx

Ok, I spoke too soon. While it does seems to have gotten a little better, I still get the crashes randomly.

Seems the beamng pseudo-protocol has not be installed properly; when I click the button on the page nothing happens, and if I check the browser console, it has this error:

Prevented navigation to “beamng:v1/openSupport” due to an unknown protocol.

it's not like they support linux anyways

Ok, I've found a way to manually run the support app; do I need to submit the form, or just providing you the ID number there would suffice?

Is there a way to disable the UI responsiveness check, or increase the time-out or something of the sort?

Many times there was no visible freeze at all before the error message gets displayed, which make me wonder if maybe the UI wasn't really unresponsive, but instead either there's some issue with the detection system itself, or maybe it's just a very brief freeze that would've solved itself if the game wasn't forcefuly closed by the responsiveness check. I would like to test that hypothesis if possible.

I doubt your issues are related since his issue is with proton/wine or linux nvidia drivers.
