Is beamMP safe?

I wanted to play with my friend. But my anti virus blocked it and said it was a URL blacklist. Also its not some free antivirus, Its an actual one. So Im wondering if its safe to play, because I dont want to get a virus.

It is safe and there's another alternative like KissMP but in my opinion it's not nearly as polished as BeamMP is.

The code is entirely open source for you to check. There's no encryption, hidden things, etc.

yeah, but this is kissmp, not beammp. the way you said it sounds like beammp is the good one.

beamMP is safe and shows you the mods on a server before you join/download
kissmp has a tiny fraction of the players and you end up downloading things without even seeing what it is

as far as support goes, I asked a question over a week ago on kissmp, no response
got more then one question answered on beammp over the same time

Depends how you define safe. Being on the internet at all isn't safe. But my definition of safe and your definition of safe are probably different.

My son has been playing BeamNG daily for months. Error messages appear all the time during game play and our Norton Antivirus kicks him out of the game quite frequently. The first time this happened we were nervous about what the error messages were telling us. We considered turning off the antivirus but were advised to leave it running. Despite the error messages we have not acquired a virus from game play. I figure it is par for the course when playing games that are still in development.

Not sure if anyone can comment but is this tripping of the antivirus software common for open coded games?

1. The game is not open-coded
2. It's probably because Norton is crap. What does it actually say about the game? What's in those messages?
