This is how I used to save games to a rough positioning and replays too, it is buggy.
Bring up the replay app in UI apps, put it on screen, load up the map you did replay on, then on the replay app select replays and select the one you want, it should start playing.
Good luck hope it helps.
Thanks
Thanks, but I think you're misunderstanding what I'm asking.
That tells me how to open a replay. I can do that just fine. But usually, when you close the replay, all the cars that were in the replay disappear. But I stumbled across a way to close the replay in such a way that all the cars that were in the replay are still there, and I could interact with them as though I had just spawned them myself.
For example, I took a replay of about 10 trucks organized in various places around a parking lot (to represent a construction crew). later, I opened the replay. if I had closed the replay normally, all the trucks in it would disappear with it. But instead, I got the game to leave all the trucks in the places they had been in the replay. So rather than having to spend 15-20 minutes manually re-spawning, re-customizing, and re-positioning the trucks, I just opened the previous recording and had them ready to go in 20 seconds.
I don't really know the words to describe it succinctly, but I hope that makes it clear what I was talking about.
Choosing replays has gotten buggy and it loads twice and then spawns default car for me.
But now when I take a new replay I can reload it onto that map later the way I mentioned, as for old replays they are probably broken from the update?
Thanks
This tells me your replay contains broke/outdated content from before update.
Hope it helps
When loading the replay, make sure no cars are spawned in the map. Not even the default blue pickup, Remove that one. Let the replay spawn everything. Then, when you close the replay, the replay's cars will remain.
If you leave any cars on the map beforehand, the game just returns you to what you had spawned before loading it (Probably because the game has no way of knowing weather you actually cared about those cars). But if there was nothing there, the game let's you keep what was in the replay. As an added bonus, this trick also let me fix some replays that were buggy or kept crashing.
I want to clarify that none of my replays are outdated; The replays I am talking about were all recorded within the same couple of days, on the same version, with the same mods installed. They all opened just fine. I did use some unsaved custom configs, but this doesn't seem to affect the replay's ability to load; the specific configs in question would not appear, but the rest of the cars were unaffected. I doubt this would fix out-of-date replays.
If anyone else has a similar problem, I hope this helps!
(Side note, Thank you for confirming that this is a thing that can still be done on purpose; I probably wouldn't have found out how otherwise. Best wishes!)
It sucks because i found that "feature" to be the most useful part of the re-player as i decorated a derby track with like 50 props, ramps and custom cars.
I just closed beamng thinking it would work as always but came back now and i can only watch it :/
I tried replacing some props, editing some minor parts in the cars, moving things around in f12 and spawning something in, but beam is determined to delete everything.
I even tried closing/deleting the replay add-on while it's replaying. But that thing is stubborn...
EDIT: It's not an old replay btw, it's from today.
