Race cars?

I just bought this game! I'm liking it a lot.
I'm wondering if there are race cars like the ones from the GT3 class, GTE, old historic (like the Cobra) and so on, and what is the best place to download cars and tracks.

I'd say getting the mods from where they got original released (ie. Official Site mainly) is safer than other places.
