Fix understeer?
I haven't played the game for awhile, but is there a way to fix the massive amount of understeer I'm getting in pretty much every vehicle? I'm using a ps4 controller with ds4. The only thing I can think of is if the joystick sensitivity is up too high for the game? I'm running all default settings.

We don't provide any drift assistant in this game, so you have to provide very careful steering inputs. E.g. pushing the gamepad stick all the way to the left is equivalent to furiously rotating a real life steering wheel to the left until you suddenly hit full lock. Imagine doing that at 60mph rather than at parking speeds: instant understeer.
Be more gentle with the steering inputs, choose a powerful but normally aspirated car (which won't have turbo lag), and as usual, "practice, practice, practice".

You can limit the steering at certian speed in the options

Put larger sticky tires up front and crappy thin ones on the rear?

Thanks for your input! I was more so controlling the cars as an arcade style. What helped me is slightly holding the joystick upwards and starting diagonally to turn versus just jamming the joystick left/right

I know that being precise with the sticks is difficult, the solution I found was to give the stick quick touches, instead of giving it full lock instantly, doing this simulates that you are turning your steering wheel half instead of doing it completely

Cars in this game are all into understeer. It is like 0% oversteer while entering curve without braking, accelerating or making pendulum (sudden direction change)

This game have very weird unrealistic centrifugal force that for some reason do not work on cars rear end!
It is like 100% understeer.

So this is nothing to do with you using gamepad or if you would use the best steering wheel on the market.
This game is just lacking proper car handling simulation. Weirdly enough this game at the same time is quite the most realistic one on the market.... Wery weird that they failed to make proper weight simulation while cornering.

since when did a heavy car making a sharp ass turn with no aero have oversteer? try doing the things you do in this game in real life

hmm you know that tends to happen when you use no brakes like you said. lol

Honestly that's awful advice. The game should just flip your car if your try to fully turn the wheel at high speeds instead of forced understeer.

Well seriously? Or you joking?
Surface grip and cars center of mass location is determining if car will flip or not.

Power steer and take corners and 35mph or less

It isn't "forced", it's just physics. Tap on the gas a little while turning and the back of the car will whip outwards some. If you slide you won't flip

Put weight on the front wheels and don't use all the steering of the vehicle.
SlimShanks Mar 23, 2024 @ 3:50pm
Some cars are inherently understeery. Especially passenger cars, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, and offroad vehicles. As others have said, you must balance the weight to minimize understeer, and avoid slipping your front tires ever, just like real life.
That said, go hop in a racecar in game and you will wish the understeer was back.
