Automation Destruction
Is it just me, or are the Automation cars a lot less susceptible to damage? I drove an Automation car off the mountain in the Cliff map and the most damage it got was a bit of crumpling and a missing wheel. The engine worked just fine and it could still drive after being thrown off the most unforgiving side of a cliff. Pretty disappointing IMO.

J-beam models are extremely complicated to make. Realistic crash physics would be very hard to implement on the Automation models.

without any external modding with the j-beam.

if someone with the know how wanted to, they could make a model in automation export it, and custom make the j beam. hell, maybe even an interior too.

If you had bothered to read any of the notes regarding the collaboration or watched any videos of other people with early access to it you would not have been disapointed. It was never the intent of the devs on either side to have the car models deform like the Beam specific vehicles.

So it's now forbidden to be disappointed. Alright. Fine. Totally makes sense.

whats forbidden is being salty over an experimental game :steamsalty::steamsalty:

The point is to drive your cars not crash them....

In any regard, I think the update is great. You can actually get a feel for your Automation cars. I've already scrapped a few that were ok on paper but just meh when actually driven. To each his own I guess.

There is a substantial difference between a hand-crafted vehicle done in months, versus an automated process that prepared a whole vehicle for you in a few seconds.

Said that, as pointed above, it's not much about the crashing side (there's some deformation), but the focus is more on the driving and the fact that you can easily create a vehicle in Automation and drive it almost instantly in BeamNG.drive :)

I realized that automation cars have much less dots if you press ctrl. And most parts like doors are just an painting. they cant get crashed "away". They are fixed and stabilize the car extremly. Automation cars have much less parts to loose so they are just way better than simulators on mobile. I hope automation is going to fix this.

It's per exporter nature.
Our vehicles are 'hand-made' meticulously, the exporter on the other side is an entirely automated procedure. Automating the creation of the physical structure is not easy, and trades-off with complexity has to be made.
