2 player or Peer to peer?

it would work even better and it would be easiler such as having servers and having to host all of those and complex things while having a peer to peer would be more simple

For online multiplayer, please check the sticky FAQ thread.

What you can do is use Multiseat.
One PC, 2 or more players (Each player a controller/device).
To enable it, go in Options > Gameplay.

Yea, I saw that. But it's a side scroller. Besides, my friend I play it with is 3k miles the other direction. Even if it could just be us 2, with a car limit, i'd be fine af.

we want some kind of multiplayer, yes split screen is nice to have BUT what about my friends that are 2 states over?
all we want to know is IF it is posible to get P to P (even limited to 2 people with 1 car each) to work?

They used the 'Nvidia Geforce Experience (beta)' program, which includes a 'Coop' mode.
In few words, you screenshare with a friend, and he can send inputs to your PC.

In-game they only enabled the Multiseat thing.
