I have a strange problem with BeamNG.Drive and Reshade 4.5.4
Hello, I have a problem at running the 64-Bit-version of BeamNG.Drive with newest Reshade 4.5.4 installed...
I followed this tutorial by BEAMJ:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1VpcUmSByY

I installed the Reshade to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\BeamNG.Drive\Bin64" (like in the tutorial), but when I click on the x64.exe -file of the game I got a completely white window (except the Windows 10 borders, which are normal) and then an error message, the game doesn't start.

I found out that, if I install the reshade to the Bin32-folder instead into the Bin64-folder, reshade is working but I can't play Italy (or some other maps which may require the x64-mode of the game?).

Can I run BeamNG with installed reshade in the Bin64-folder or is this a bug actually that came with the last major update?
In the past I used reshade for this game (had a different userame) but my PC wasn't powerful enough to deal with reshade well, so I deleted it. But after watching BEAMJ's reshade-tutorial and -videos, I wanted to try out his configs on my new laptop:

Windows 10 Pro x64
RTX 2070
I7-8650-H
32 GB RAM

I would be really happy about a reply! Thanks!

You must disable 'UI Hardware Acceleration' in-game, as ReShade will not cope with it.
You can do that from Launcher > Support Tools > Disable UI Hardware Acceleration.

Then simply keep the same setting, located in Options > Graphics, disabled for as long you have ReShade installed.

Thank you for reply - tried what you suggested me, but didn't work unfortunately :(

Edit: I tried that already before, but didn't help!
Also reinstalling the reshade version (3.0.8) which worked in the past provoked the same error that I have now...

Then it looks like your issue is due something else.
Perhaps ReShade was installed wrongly, or the version you are using is not compatible with the game. I'm afraid I cannot be of further help with that.

I even thought that, but I think, that I installed reshade like in the video. Plus I wonder why the video from BEAMJ in my first post was uploaded at the beginning of March?
So Reshade whatever has to work with current BeamNG...

I tried ReShade about a month ago, and the installation was super easy.
You just download it from the official website, run their installer, select the game .exe and done.

If you are following some video tutorial, it's possible they are making you use some old & harder to install version of it.

I know that this video is more specific due to the used shaders, but my problem is related to the installation of newest reshade only.
I just checked the video again, the installation of reshade is recorded on 4th May 2020 and the version of BeamNG.Drive is 0.18.4.1 (current version) - the Reshade version is 4.5.4.

To clear things up:
ReShade do work with the game, but you must have 'UI Hardware Acceleration' disabled, else you won't be able to see the Main Menu.
The installation is really easy with the official ReShade installer, you just have to select the BeamNG.drive.64.exe file when asked.

Your case is different, as you seem to be following some video guide that is doing things differently. If you want to keep following that, then please ask the person that made that video.

Sorry, it wasn't my intention to be unpolite... I think there was a misunderstanding in between?

Not being un-polite either, sorry if I sounded so :)

If I understood right, you are following a video tutorial on Youtube to get ReShade on BeamNG.drive, and it seems that the guy that made the tutorial is doing something different to install ReShade.

That may be the issue, as you don't need any special steps to do that.

To install ReShade on BeamNG.drive, you just have to:
- Download the installer from the official ReShade website
- Run the installer
- It should ask you to select the game. Use the BROWSE button
- Go to Steam/Steamapps/Common/BeamNG.drive/Bin64 and select BeamNG.drive.x64.exe
- When it asks for the API, choose the Direct3D 10/11/12 (it should be already select, you have to click on it again though)
- It will then ask if you want to install the default effects pack, that's up to you

I tried this myself about a month ago, and just now again for you, and it works without problem (as far you have UI Hardware Acceleration disabled prior)

Ok thank you again, but I solved the issue...

I read here: https://forum.giants-software.com/viewtopic.php?t=126795, that I just have to rename the dxgi.dll - file into d3d11.dll. Now everything works!

That's odd, I never had to rename any DLL file with the normal ReShade installer.
But if you are trying to use other shaders (like qUINT), then it could be necessary.

Even if this is odd, it worked for me like that - even if I wouldn't use qUINT-shaders at all (it wouldn't matter).
