Issues with the West Coast USA Drag Strip Timer
I've found that when using the drag strip, the timer clock that comes up in free roam is blank after the race. If i use automatic transmission and don't rev up in neutral I get a time displayed after the end of the race. I was just wondering if it's an issue with BeamNG not being able to handle the speed or if it was something else.

I wasn't able to replicate the issue.
Can you please provide a video showing the issue, that we can use as reference to replicate this?

I made a video of the issue, the car is from Automation. https://youtu.be/t1GQzDxjmag

Does it happen mainly with that vehicle?
Or even official vehicles (ie. no mods enabled)?

If only that vehicle, it's possible it's related to how its built. Maybe send us a copy of that vehicle you used above so we can give it a try too.

I keep having this issue a lot with various different vehicles. I can usually get a successful time if I don't rev up before launching (in realistic gearbox mode manual) but of course this isn't the best time the vehicle can achieve. I'm convinced the results are being invalidated, similarly to when crossing into the other lane but in most cases I don't feel like my run broke any rules

this is a major bug

Can you please try again in Safe Mode, and if it happens, specify the vehicle & configuration you used. We need to be able to replicate the issue in order to see what's happening there.

I've also experienced this issue. It only seems to happen with fast cars, regardless of whether they benefit from clutch dumping or not (DCTs and fast traditional autos also have the issue). I suspect it's something with the timer not being able to register a quick launch, and I've experienced it with the drag configs of both the Barstow and the Bluebuck. If I race an AI driving the same car, its time registers, presumably because the AI is trash at drag racing and doesn't know how to launch as fast as it can. Any car that can hit 60 MPH in under 3 seconds is most likely affected, especially if the acceleration comes mostly (more than 70%) from the 0-30 rather than the 30-60.

I've just attempted what you suggested and now I can't seem to get a time on stock vehicles at all. For instance, I just started the game in Safe Mode, selected the drag strip on free roam, selected the default Barstow, completely stock and attempted a drag.
I tried launching by setting the revs in neutral and then dropping into gear at green, I also tried just launching from first gear and no revs and still the same. I have even intentionally launched late and none are registering a time.

Arcade mode gearbox seems to work but realistic gearbox isn't working for me.

I may have found some useful information that I believe points to where the fault lies. When I have experience the issues above I don't usually wait for the drag opponent to arrive and for the camera to change to my vehicle. I normally immediately press Tab and switch to my vehicle and stage the car while waiting for the opponent.
Tonight I attempted similar runs but waited for the opponent first and I seemed to be getting successful time recordings on the drag strip.

My current thinking is that this may be a program logic issue surrounding the instruction that appears saying something like please approach the starting line.

The drag race apparently can commence regardless of who approaches the line first but perhaps the logic running the timer isn't quite working when I approach the line before the opponent?

Still a problem that hasn't been fixed, fing great. I am using automation vehicles I have built and currently my best 1/4 mile time is 7.4 seconds, yet I believe I have gotten faster but I cant tell because most of the time the time and speed doesn't show and the screen looks exactly like OPs post. Mostly Blank with the periods and thats it.

Ulysses has the solution, if you just wait a couple seconds before staging your car everything works fine every time
