BeamNG.drive
Beam.NG has now broken 2 Logitech G29 wheels. How do i stop it from breaking my third wheel.
Quick back story. I bought a logitech G29 wheel and pedals on prime day (50% off, score) i recieved the wheel and i used it for about 3 hours playing project cars 2. The wheel was beautiful a huge improvement over my last wheel i loved it. I then decided to play beam and see how it felt on my wheel. After (not kidding) 30 seconds of driving on a dirt course my wheel started to make an awful squeal on left turns. I had the wheel replaced by amazon and got it the very next day. I used the new wheel in 5 or 6 other FFB games over the next few days and had no issues. But just like the last time as soon as i played beam with it about 2 minutes in I hit a wall it jerked my wheel and now my second wheel also makes the same squealing noise on left turns.

I have another wheel in the mail from amazon but i dont want to have to repeat this process everytime i play beam. Has anybody else experienced anything like this before? Any suggestions to stop this from happening again? i love this game but it beats my wheel is there any way to tone it down without ruining the feel of driving?

Thanks for reading my novel.

well your the 1 of 100k who got that issue. my steering has 6k hour on it im the third owner, and there no noice at all and working like brandnew. i did 400hour on beamgn with it and it never damaged it :P g27 steering btw.
i think it might be the fact that its the g29?

id say get g920 instead works better with windows even though it doesnt have shift lights

also good question

is it worth getting a g920 for this game? i play a bunch of forza and pc1/2

ive used controller for idk how many years playing racing games since forza 3

is it worth the 350 for the wheel and shifter cuz on some cars i want the stick shift but idk its a lot of money
thrustmaster tmx works perfectly after 500+ hours of abuse driving hard in this game with strong ffb settings
So as an update I now received my third wheel. While setting it up I spun it. It makes the squeal noise out of the box. Haven't even put power to it. So I have just accepted it. Good luck to anybody else with one I wish you the best.
Could be poorly greased eh? I highly doubt its Beamng breaking your wheels. But good luck.

All 3. its starting to sound like its just poor build quality.
I will say, i have tried a top of the line Thrustmaster, its night and day. You may be right, mine jumps sparks when its plugged in, and my old one i used to have would squeak a little bit. I think its just a build quality thing. Ive had mine for almost 6 months and im fine. Anyways, wish you luck, must suck RMA 3 times in a row.

lol dude, i did around 400hour on beamng with a g27 wheel and i never had any issue. the game is far away to be the caused on your issue.
This might be offtopic but i hate these kind of comments."It doesn't happen to me so it doesn't happen to anyone else". Maybe he has these issues and other people hasn't reported having the same issue yet.

There is a reason i dont respond to such comments.
I'm just here to tell you how I upgraded from G25 to G920 (for faster response and the new h-shifter) It broke within days. Replacement broke within days.

I've got a third wheel with pedals in an unopened package.

The wheels are utter ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and they break from even low impact FFB settings. My G25 is still going strong to this day.

In case any of you fanboy expert ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ didn't catch it, the wheel keeps breaking within hours, possibly minutes.

I butchered one and will use the controller to connect a second H-shift.

Logitech literally made a more expensive wheel, with less accessories, and it breaks a hundred times easier without exaggeration.

you may all shut the ♥♥♥♥ up.

Once again, 4 months, im fine. ATLEAST 200 hours into beam with my g920, still not one issue. Once again, rare issue maybe? Or the way you guys drive. If im fine on mine after 200+ hours, you guys may just have faulty hardware in the firstplace.

I got 3 G920, 2 broke within hours and the second is in an unopened package. They are ♥♥♥♥, and more expensive than its predecessors.

I had a G25 for over ten years at this point, 4 months is literally nothing. let me guess, your wheel is acting funny at this point?

I literally have one G25 and THREE g920, 2 of which is broken and one I left unopened.
My G25 is working as if its brand new, whereas the other ♥♥♥♥ broke in minutes/hours.

You have a G27, but no point. "Lol dude". All games seem to break the g920/g29.
stop buying logitech then

i've logged all my hours in beamng with my thrustmaster TMX and it has NO issues

i've had to recalibrate it once in its entire life

the little grip things on the sides are worn down from so much use but it still functions like new
i'm on a G29, game feels great, you gotta turn the feedback down some though obviously, when i first hit an obstacle it damn near broke my thumbs so i head to the settings ASAP to knock it right back, i can't stand clacking and clipping, then i incrementally increased until it felt right, you gotta be quick to adjust when in a new game, like overclocking a prosser, too little is better than too much, devs can't be held responsible for every wheel configuration out there.
overall strength 600
smoothing 300
side accel 20%
max strength 33%
update full 2000Hz
