Request - Reset car, but not fully fix.
Atm when you mess up a corner, or lock up and hit a tree and need to reset the car you end up with a brand new car. Brakes cool, wheels straight, rad full.

I wonder if an option could be added, or if its a popular idea that when you have driven for a while, bent the wheels slightly, lost a few hub-caps, lost some rad fluid. That when you do bin it into a tree, when you reset the car a few steps back the car retains its condition at that moment.

I play the game by driving and ragging a car over rough ground, a few jumps etc. I like to have a car thats worn. Even on its last legs in terms of drive-ability. Reduce speed and work on the engine due to low fluids or overheating. But hate that after some time when I do hit a tree the car is brand new and perfect when I restore.

What do others think? Would this be a good thing for the game? You can restore the car back to start, but rewind keeping the worn condition of the car for that time.

Im sure it cant be done at the moment, a rewind = new car. Asking as a request and to see who else may want it added.

Open up the radial menu (ESC/left thumbstick press) and hit the save option. Now you can use reset to home, or rewind, then open up the menu again and load up your saved vehicle state.

Well, it'll at least restore any damage in the form of broken beams. However, your temps will all be reset along with any radiator leaks.

go in free camera mod (shift+c) then move around where you wanna drop the car , then press F7, it will drop the car in the same condition you ended up with :)

Thanks. Will do for now. But would be great to rewind and have the car restore its state to the pint that its been rewond to. But your ways handy.

your doing it wrong then, make sur that your camera is at the ground level like if you were behind the car looking at the rear bumper at this height.

I have tried from various spots and have had camera right at ground looking ahead and the vehicle still drops out of the air

there is a mod in the repository called "beam regenerator". it bends your car into its fixed shape but parts you lost or broken engine and fluids remain.
