Best City Map?
Lookin' for a new city map to drive 'round on. I've downloaded quite a few community-maps, but have never run into one that has a real city....

West Coast, USA is definitely the best I've seen. It comes with the game.

Though luck. Performance is the biggest issue in this kind of thing. West coast is too scrambled and too small, generic city is too unrealistic, i guess the only one that fits this closely is a port from GTA 4/5 map or garfield heights.

Yeah but Garfield Heights is more of a suburban map where as WCUSA is much more urban.

yeah but garfield heights nails size and scale of what a real life suburban would look like, whereas west coast super compresses it and makes it a few blocks big and calls it "a big city"

Fair point.

Garfield Heights is neat, but I'm a bit more interested in a more urban map. I like West Coast, USA, especially since it's very large and has quite a few unique areas (Urban, a small suburb, highway, and scenic).

Two City maps are in development at this time:
Los Injurus (by me) and Los Beamos by Insanegaz.

I am also putting final touches on much of my Modular Urban road/highway kit, for novice/intermediate mappers to use in building city maps of their own. This modular road kit (MRK for short), allows you to build a city with functional puzzle pieces of roads, to make either the city of your dreams, or a barf-inducing ROAD ROLLERCOASTER (tm).
I also have a Subway station, train/road tunnels, and flood control canals in my map.
It's made to capture the spirit/gameplay flow of the map from GTA SAN ANDREAS, without plagiarizing textures, layout, sound, or any assets at all. A link to Los Injurus is below.
This is a partially community funded project.

Please see my patreon link in the 1st post on that page if you wish to donate. The map is not currently available for download yet outside of being a patreon member. Please read the book of a post and follow along on the thread if you wish to participate or give input on what you'd like the city to have. Currently the fully developed areas don't run worse than West coast USA, but not a lot is finished yet, even if I have put hundreds of hours into just modeling roads/bridges/tunnels/buildings etc. I am not using Sketchup for models so it should come out with lots of good stuff, with built-in native (optimized) collision and lots of LOD's (level's of detail) so that the system load is more balanced.
The system requirements currently for playable frame rates is:
i7 9xx series processor or XEON 35xx series equivalent or above (vintage 2009...)
4GB of system RAM for solo play, 6~8GB to play with AI vehicles too.
Radeon 6750 1GB DDR3 Video card or above recommended. 2GB Video card strongly recommended, and RX 470 / GTX 1060 for optimal performance with reflections on low.
Runs substantially better than town areas of my previous (but not abandoned) Roane County TN USA map.
If you like what you see please consider becoming a support of the project via Patreon. I am using the funding (whatever is above and beyond the costs of Maya on a monthly basis) to purchase assets for the map. If you're not wealthy enough to donate at-least stop by the thread and leave a like to say you're interested!

The other city map, Los Beamos is not by me but here's a link:

This one is around the same stages of development as mine is, however, we're each creating different maps with a differing model set, different city textures, and vision.

There's also Generic city, but I don't know if it still works yet. It's pretty old. You might be able to find it on the forums.

There's also a crash test city without fancy building textures, or something similar by Nadeox1 on the forums, that's been out a good year or so at-least. He may have done a second one.
