I just don't get the steering limit
What is up with so, SO many games limiting the max steering? As in... let's say car A in reality can turn its' steering wheel 5 times, while in Beam it's like maybe 2-3 turns. I notice some games do this when you're at anything over like what seems like 5-10 mph. It drives me insane. Like TURN THE FREAKING WHEEL ALL THE WAY. CUT IT TIGHT COME ON.

Does that make sense? Like half the time even at a low speed I cannot make a turn because the damn front wheels just barely turn. Is this some kind of setting I am unaware of? Why is the radius limited artificially? Imagine driving your car IRL and you can only turn the steering wheel like 1-2 times. Depending on the car that would be an extremely large turn.

It makes it basically impossible to drive... I should be able to turn in a parking lot going 5-10 mph, I shouldn't need to drive out into the grass and across a field just to turn around. O.O

Does anyone else go nuts over this? I feel like this is some kind of major oversite (unless it is a setting)

The game does not limit the steering in any way. You are always able to turn lock-to-lock at any speed (of course doing that at speed will cause under/over steer.

For keyboard users (or who needs), there's an option to enable steering limit based on speed (under Options > Controls > Filters). That's disabled by default.

Most cars can't rotate the wheel anywher near 5 rotations. Have you ever actually driven a car? Most street cars have about 1.5 rotations from centre to lock (2.5 from lock to lock), and lorries only have a bit more.

Also, most parking lots have a speed limit of 5-10mph. You're going to struggle to get the car turned around in a parked up lot at that speed.

He probably drives an suv or a big car.

My frogeye sprite has 1.5 lock to lock. It is a tiny car though.

That's exactly what it's like to drive a car IRL.

Just to point out...
Does anyone actually drive 5-10 mph? That's a crawl. 10 would be the absolute minimum for traversing a parking lot.
My 2015 Mazda 3's wheel I had could turn about 2 times. My 2011 tacoma turns about 4.5-4.75 (kind of odd but it's a truck so maybe thats normal?) My 1993 honda accord turned about 3 times.
Oddly enough, my tacoma while being pretty long can actually turn pretty damn sharp, better than the accord surprizingly. The mazda 3 had the smallest radius though because it was tiny.
But I digress.

I'm going to go through my settings because something must be off somewhere. If the truck is supposted to be 900° then something is totally wrong because they barely leaf the wheel well in my game lol.

Alright then at least it isn't the game's norm. Might just delete and reinstall to see if that fixes it. I've had it installed for... a long time

Get a controller/wheel if you have the money.
Problem fixed
