It should be simple plug&play.
You just have to make sure the TrackIR software is running and the device connected before launching the game.
If done correctly, the game would detect it automatically.
I'm not sure about mods. As far they are simple mods (ie. nothing that goes editing some core files, it should not be causing problems)
The TrackIR camera also only shows 1 light and it seems not to recognize BeamNG in the software.
Also I thought this could be caused because I am using a T300 and a TH8A shifter (2 usb controllers)? Maybe that the game strugles with also using TrackIR, but I am sure you guys will know if this could be the cause.
I hope you guys can help me out. BeamNG is one of my favorite titles to play, playing it with TrackIR would be a blast!
If TracKIR is only showing 1 light in the application, something isn't setup properly with TrackIR. You should be seeing 3 lights unless you really crane your neck too high or too low.
I would unplug your shifter and controllers and just get TrackIR working first in it's own internal software. Make sure it's showing 3 lights and the movement looks right. Get it working there before trying to get it working in any game.
You should put the camera above your monitor, clip the metal thing to a hat, use the Recenter key to re-center the camera view once you're seated comfortably, and go from there. You will be using the Recenter key often as that "resets" your head with the camera, and you'll need to do that every time you make big shifts in where you're sitting or if you stand up and sit back down.
In the TrackIR software, find the BeamNG entry and set it to something simple at first, such as 1:1. That means the head tracking is about as close to 1 to 1 movement without exaggeration when you turn your head too far to the right or left.
You need to load up the TrackIR software first, make sure you're centered and it's tracking, then minimize it and open up your game of choice. TrackIR will recognize that you're using BeamNG and start using the 1:1 profile that you setup for it. After you get it working with the 1:1 profile, you can go back into TrackIR and copy the 1:1 into a new profile and tweak the copy.
Personally I use 1:1 for just about every driving game, such as Euro Truck Simulator or Project Cars or Assetto Corso.
For all my other games it works fine except for BeamNG very strange I don't really know what else to try
Okay so it turned out there was a notification in the right top of the software showing a new update for the game libary or something simulair. Once I ran that BeamNG showed up in the game list on the TrackIR software and solved the issue.
Thanks guys for the great support, it works great now!
What an amazing game it is, even with proper TrackIR support! Keep it up!
