Main Menus and UI's
Is it just me or does the Ui and menu in this game feel completely broken ? Selecting an option feels like there is a mini loading screen between each click. You cant tab out because it removes the games fullscreen and defults to silly resolutions, So then you set your reseloution and turn on full screen and it will reset the resolution again. Alt Enter resers reseloutions too.... this is the only game i have ever played where this happens. (also repository ? really - call it mods thats what they are)

when selecting things like free play there is a 20 second load between it displaying the imiages for maps and such.... i dont know it jsut feels like it was made by the russians during the cold war... its clunky as hell.

I love the content of this game..... but the menues were designed by blind monkeys. no offence BeamNG but they are some of the worst UI desisions ever (imo ofc). It All feels crammed in with no flow and runs slow as hell.

Kindly ask you to moderate your language.
Insults are not needed and won't be tolerated again. Thank you.

Slow != Broken

It works, but it's slow. That is known. We are also working into improving it.
There are various factors that can slow down the UI more than normal:
- Slow/weak processor
- Many mods (more mods = more UI work = slower)
- Using many apps at the same time (more apps = more UI work = slower)

20 seconds to fire up the level selector is way too much, out of the norm (it barely takes 1-2 seconds here).
What are your specs?
And did you try with no mods?

For the fullscreen issues, that's unrelated to the UI, and known too.
You can go around that by using Borderless mode.

Moderate my languge ? i never swore once ? and insults ? i made comparisions or similies they are not insults ? "just feels like it was made by the russians during the cold war" is a comparison - not an insult.

Regardless here are my specs (i use no mods at all):

AMD FX 6350 Six Core 3.90Ghz
12Gig Ram
64Bit Windows 7
Nvida G-force GTX 1060 6GB

That's a weak processor.
The AMD FX CPUs are known to be pretty bad when it comes to complex stuff, due their poor architecture. You are more likely being CPU bottlenecked.

A good read in regards.

How complex are your menus ? - i checked the perfomance of my CPU in your menu's - it was at about 6% usage and upto 60-70% usage in game. There was no visable bottle neck there. Also surely this bottle neck would happen in game (as the read says during large maths priotions or AI) but the game runs fine with multipule cars - AI working and all crashing into eaachother so i cant see how the menu would bottle neck there ? (persoaly i would not say its a "weak" processer at all. Its well above average in everyother reguard, but again how can the FPU effect menus and not the main game?).

To further test this i used another game (from the depths) which is EXTREMELY math and pyhicss intenst. On this i can see the bottle neck but only in large scale battles.

The UI runs on the CPU, as the physics.
Although we give more priority to the physics and game itself, than the UI.
That means if something is starting to slowdown on the CPU side, the UI would, in most cases, the very first visible thing.

Do this, it would give some more useful information:
Load Gridmap (do not move the camera or the vehicle)
Go to options > user-interface > enable 'Advanced Mode'
In the sidemenu there should be a new button named 'PERFORMANCE'
Press it. Then click the 'Hide UI for 10 seconds' button on the top-right corner.
Wait until the UI returns back, then press ALT+O and paste the link for the image here.

Go to the BeamNG.Drive directory (Steam/Steamapps/Common/BeamNG.Drive/Bin64) and run the 'banana-bench.x64.bat' file.
When done, take a screenshot and post the link here.

I can do this - but again i dont see how this relates too your main menu ? before a level has even been loaded when i first start the game its still slow ? (i could understnad if a level was laoded in the back ground an i had pressed escape to play a new map while still on one, but i haven even loaded a menu at this point so the CPU should be absolutly fine) :)

Do you have 'Advanced Features' enabled in Options > User Interface?
If no, enabled it and redo.

Also check if you have any of these programs. Some are also known to cause similar problems:
https://wiki.beamng.com/Incompatible_Third_Party_Software

Was the '20 seconds' part an exaggeration or it is actually that slow for you?
ChaoticPinky YT Dec 21, 2017 @ 5:38am
Realisticly its more like 10 seconds. so only slightly exagerated (realised my preoblem miss read and was pressing ocntrol not alt.)

Your resolution is too low, the graph is being cut off.
Take another screenshot so that I can see the whole graph (scroll down).

I also need the banana-bench screenshot as said above.

Also - i have checked the list of 3rd parties - i use none of them.

Uhm, the hardware seems to work fine.

Try this instead:

-In the Main Menu press CTRL+U.
-A window should appear.
-Go to Timeline and press F5 on your keyboard: https://media.beamng.com/TzBdqawjCkrozX8n/TzBdqawjCkrozX8n.jpg
-The thing should start to record. Go back to the game, and load up the level selector, so that you replicate your issue.
-When done, return to that little window and press the red button: https://media.beamng.com/DcQQflZ99Spk13dP/DcQQflZ99Spk13dP.jpg

You should see something similar:
https://media.beamng.com/RYBNqiRHotwm4xxP/RYBNqiRHotwm4xxP.jpg
Take a screenshot (if needed multiple) so that we can see the entire content of that thing.
ChaoticPinky YT Dec 21, 2017 @ 6:18am
Upon Pressing Ctrl+U and going to time line and pressing F5 seems to make the main menu freeze completely (the game does not crash and is still responsive) but nothing is clickable ?
Nadeox1 Dec 21, 2017 @ 6:27am
That's odd.
Uhm, can you try to launch the game from:
Steam/Steamapps/Common/BeamNG.Drive/Bin32 > BeamNG.Drive.x86.exe and see if the UI problems persists?
ChaoticPinky YT Dec 21, 2017 @ 6:30am
The problem persists there too.
