That's part of the problem. Use World of mods at your own risk, most mods if not all are low quality mods. Everyone reccomends only using Beamng.com for mods since they are moderated by beamng staff to make sure they wont destory your pc.
But to answer your question, there is a chance the mod you downloaded doesn't work anymore or the uploader messed up the zip.
All the 'properly' made mods would instead more likely install by simply following the official guide: https://wiki.beamng.com/Installing_Content
Can you please describe how you installed the mods in details?
Also, take a screenshot of your mods folder and send it over please.
Also2, link to one of those maps?
Links to some of the maps (I just sorted for the favorites and dl'ed some):
https://www.beamng.com/resources/altitude.251/
https://www.beamng.com/resources/car-jump-arena.1362/
https://www.beamng.com/resources/matrix-freeway.48/
I didn't register with the site, I just click "download now" and drop it into the mods folder.
I use a symlink for the mods folder:
mklink /j "c:\Users\Micha\Documents\BeamNG.drive\mods" "f:\c_sym\documents\beamng\mods"
I use /j junction for this is compatible with anything (even remoteaccess on the pc).
/d is less compatible
the two folders at c: and f: are basically the same:

btw, I can't have the mods folder on my ssd (c:). It's too small. But fortunately even Visual Studio works from any other drive with symlinks
I also sent evidence of the maps being active but not selectable.
Hope I can help.
Although, I'm not sure about the symlink part.
I advice to use instead the game feature to do so.
You need to go to the game's installation folder and edit the 'STARTUP.INI' file with a text-editor.
The instructions are written inside of it.
