i7 4790k 15~25 seconds, fx 6xxx series amd cpu = 1~2 minutes.
Having old HDD and no SSD may make it longer by a few seconds.
Time measured on largest map I could find - Roane County Tennessee USA.
Entering F1 object editor also takes up to 30~40 seconds on slower cpu with larger map, 10~20 seconds on better cpu or smaller map. This is in addition to the editor-load time.
Once you'd opened the editor, and gone into f1 object editor mode, you shouldn't have any more long waits unless you have a shed-load of things in your forest brush when you save after editing it.
Isn't the current system easy enough already? Just click an axis, and the object will move according to it. (Enter 'Free-Camera' before moving your own vehicle, so that the camera doesn't bother you))
The 'X,Y,Z Arrows' are part of the editor, and the editor is loaded in the same exact moment you press the F11 button.
In 0.8.0.1 the editor is slow to load up.
The next update should sensibly increase its speed.
