Monitor Blanks Out While Playing. (Solved)
I upgraded monitors today when the game is running the monitor goes black until I Alt F4 to quit game.

Nor I couldn't get it to run 144HZ.

It appears in Windows though but goes back to 59hz. Right click, screen resolution, advanced. When I select 144hz the monitor blanks for about 10 seconds, then after that I hit ok, then go back to the menu and it shows 59hz again!

My monitor is Aoc g2460pf and I used DVI-D to connect with my PC.

I don't have experience with those monitors, but if Windows itself can't manage to get it to run at 144hz, that would be a problem external to the game.

You should check the cable. I'm not sure whether DVI cables can be used for such high refresh rates.

Someone else said to change refresh rate in GPU Control Panel, in my case it would be AMD, I shouldn't change it in Windows officially.

But how would I manage to fix the game going blank whenever I run it?

All I see is blank, like it's turned off.

Changing refresh from the AMD panel or within Wibdkws should be the same.

For the game: try to delete the 'settings' folder in documents.

Ok, thanks you so much! :D I'll try that tonight!

Does the game still think I'm using the older monitor causing it to blank out?

I don't think that should make any difference, unless your new monitor is missing nodes from your previous one. Starting with fresh settings is worth a try.

If none of these problems get fixed, should I get a Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable and using DisplayPort instead of DVI-D? Maybe this might fix the problems?

I google a bit.
For 144hz you either need a Dual-link DVI or DisplayPort cable.

Basically, as soon you are selecting 144Hz within Windows, it starts a countdown and asks you if it should keep that setting. If you don't give an answer or say no, it will revert to previous setting, exactly to avoid being stuck with your monitor not displaying anything.

I advice to check your monitors manual and the cable itself. Eventually contact the support service of the monitor.

Ok, thanks. What information should I look at in the manual?

Not sure, something like common problems or alike.
Else directly contact the support service, they will definitively know about that.

Ok, as for for support, no. I'll just ask the Steam forums.

Problem Solved! Installing the drivers for the monitor worked.

I didn't need to delete settings.

Thanks for the help though Nadeox! :D
No matter what it is you buy, if you connect it to the PC, the PC has to know HOW to use it. That's what drivers are for. Next time Mr. Hare, I am going to ask you if it's plugged in 1st...
You really pulled a FACEPALM with this one.

If it doesn't have drivers installed on the PC end of things, the PC won't know it's specifics, features, etc, other than to display a basic image as per generic standards all monitors must have if they advertise a feature (UltraHD, WQHD, VESA[old], ETC), even then you may still need drivers for it.

Consider this a learning experience.
