Hello, Dr. Walnuss.

Apologies for the late reply and sorry to hear it Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora crashed on your PC in co-op mode.

Are you still experiencing this issue?
If yes, is it happening in any specific mission or place on the map, or are these crashes completely random?

Does the game crash for either you or your friend in single-player modes?

Have you tried any PC troubleshooting yet? If not, please try all the steps from our guide:
Troubleshooting technical issues on PC[www.ubisoft.com]

Disable ALL 3rd party, unnecessary applications running in the background, especially 3rd party overlays:
Clean boot:
Disabling background applications on PC[www.ubisoft.com]

Disconnect any additional USB devices, other than mouse and keyboard for testing purposes (any USB hubs, headsets etc).

Make sure you update not only your graphics card drivers but also check for ALL available updates to your motherboard on the manufacturer's website.

Hello.

Yea i have the issue and it is totally random. Yesterday the game work very fine over 6h. Now the game is crashed with Bluescreen. It happen when Strange glitches with squares in the ground. I also read on Reddit that AMD users have this too. So it can't be my graphics card. As far as I can tell, I only have it in COOP.

Drivers are up to date and only the keyboard and mouse are connected to the PC. I've already tried to narrow it down :(

Hey Dr. Walnuss.

Thank you for all the explanation.
Have you checked if there are more updates for your system and motherboard?
New chipset drivers, new BIOS?

Can you share with us your PCs specification, please?

Include the GPU driver version and date, the game's installation path and Windows full version build (type WinVer in the Start menu and press Enter).

Is any of your PC components (CPU, GPU, RAM) overclocked or undervolted?

Bluescreen in Windows may mean RAM issues, and the game is quite VRAM hungry.
What amount of VRAM does your GPU have?
Have you ever disabled the page file settings in your Windows OS?

You can find more info on the page file here:

Hey Vinci

I have my CPU on standard Intel Settings with new BIOS.

CPU: 13900K
RAM: 64GB Corsair Vengance 3600Mhz
GPU: RTX 3070ti from Gigabyte Aorus Master
MB: ASUS ROG STRIX B660-A GAMING WIFI D4
BIOS: 3410 but i have played and tested with 3403

All drivers are up to date. When the crash is doing his part, i send you bluescreen code from the windows tool.

Thank you for trying to find the Error. I find lot of people with AMD CPUs they have the same problem. I was thinking my Intel CPU is dead with the problem but only Avatar have the huge problems. No problem in DCS World or Star Citizen.

Have a nice day :)

Thank you, Dr. Walnuss.

Sorry to hear it the game still crashes on you PC.
Have you ever been able to observe if your GPU start running out of VRAM before these crashes happen?

Are you using in-game frame generation or AMD's FSR?
If you use frame generation, please disable it for a test.
If you use FSR, please switch it to Nvidia's DLSS.

Without frame generation you may need to lower the graphics settings a bit.

Let us know the result.

Hey Dr. Walnuss,

Thank you.
Does this mean the game crashes for you in a solo campaign mode now?

If yes, did it start recently?
If yes, have you just updated your Windows OS and using now the Windows 11 24H2 version?
(type WinVer in the Start menu and press Enter to check your OS version)

Hey Vinci.

I can say i play the game only in coop but i play it alone now and will fight the human areas then the areas not sync with the coop game.

The game crash after 30 seconds and in the next time i can play 40 mins and then the game crash.
WinVer say Version 23H2 Build 22631.4317

I try now other ram. I dont have that in other games but in the game i see crazy Pixels in the game where the ground not render. I have a video on youtube. You see what i mean.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4c9RKbBOTw

I clean my windows. My drivers with DDU clean install. Now i try the new RAM. But RAM Tester say no error. That wonder me why the game crash.

Hello Vince.

I think i know the problem now. I test the game on different rams with different timings and speed. That was not the problem. I put the game on complete Max setting with "-unlockmaxsettings". I have the square bug. I disable setting to setting. Now i find the problem. "Dither Fade" is it! I play one hour without one crash. But the squares come from the Dither Fade. But the Crashes come from FSR 3 with Frame Gen.

Have a nice day.

Hey Dr. Walnuss,

Thanks a lot for all this valuable information.
I'm very interested in your further tests, to be honest.

I'll check this thread again soon.

Hey Vinci. I dont know but it crashes without FSR 3. I use DLSS and it crash later. My Graphics driver crashes with "nvlddmkm". I install the driver new with DDU. Close all applications. I have no idea now. I read the same problem with AMD Cards and my friend have a 3080 and have the same problem. I dont know what i can do now. The game make so much fun but the problem kills the athmosphere. The Square Bug is fixed with the "Dither Fade" off but the crashes are the same :(

I hopy you find anything. I use a memtest for my RAM. Use the Nvidia MODS programm for diagnostic. No Error on RAM CPU and GPU.

Hope you find the problem with your team.

Sorry to hear it, Dr. Walnuss.

Please also try the following:

There are 2 commands available, SFC Scan and DISM to check and repair Windows system file. More information can be found here:
Using System File Checker in Windows[support.microsoft.com]

Please try them.

If it does not help, try creating a new user account in Windows (Administrator account) log into it and install the game there. If you had any corrupted files in your local profile, this should resolve it:

Manage user accounts in Windows[support.microsoft.com]
