Black screen after intro
After 14 hours of play, the game starts, but after the intro it stands on a black screen. I verified files, updated the drivers and reinstalled the game, but nothing helps

bro, i solved it. u just need to delete saves. dont worry about progress it will load from Steam Cloud. im enjoying this game again, but idk why my game started crashing. but its real random. i could play 2 hours without crashing or it crashed twice in 10 mins

I tried deleting the saves, the "AFOP" folder from the "My Games" folder
I tried deleting Ubisoft Connect along with all saves and the game, still the same problem
as soon as my saves are loaded, after the intro there is a black screen, but if I delete the saves and start the game without the Internet, then everything works (but I can’t play on my save)
if you return the saves and start the game without the Internet, then everything works again and there is no black screen, but if for some reason the Internet appears and the game connects to the Ubisoft servers, then the game does not work again, just instead of the black screen you see what you saw when the connection to the servers was restored (I saw the main menu, because only there the game wanted to connect to the servers)
At the moment I can’t play this game with the Internet, I’m waiting for a fix, or I’ll try to make a refund, because I have 15 hours of gameplay, which is clearly not enough for this game, and playing without the Internet is also not an option(((

Sorry to hear it.
It does sound odd.
After you connect to the Internet, are you asked to sync progress or just the fact of being connected crashes the game for you?

Have the same problem that these guys. Tried to do the same(deleting saves from folder in documents), didn`t work. Didn`t had a chance to launch the game without internet, now just deleted the game and trying to download again. My setup is i7 12700Н + RTX 4070. And hope that this problem will not appear this time, but maybe you can advice something or give the solution.

I just wanted to finish this game, just interested in the plot and game process. Cannot do refund because have more than 20 hours gameplay. Just looking for some solutions.

In my case I see nothing, just a black screen without cursor or something else after the intro. Nothing is saying to me about loading my saves or any other movements, just nothing. Maybe you have something to deal with that?

Same here. Black screen, nothing helps (saves, ubisoft connection, anything, meh). Appeared also at 9 july, before this date everything was good. Maybe it was some kind of update to game what ruined it? Idk -_- but for this money its way too much laggs, glitches and problems.

Same problem. The game can only be launched when the Internet is turned off. I reinstalled the game twice, completely deleting all folders, completely removing and reinstalling the drivers on the video card. Win11 23H2 with latest updates, latest drivers for motherboard, r7800x3d + rtx4080(556.12)
The problem occurred after a small Ubisoft update dated July 9, 2024

DLS came out today, and the problem disappeared, now don’t need to turn off the Internet, at least for me

Try deleting the file with the game settings and launch the game again. It will create a new file. Hopefully, this one will write the changes correctly.

It should be in %USERPROFILE% \ Documents \My Games\AFOP\

Hello everyone,

Really sorry to hear it you have been experiencing issues with Avatar.

One more thing that I would like you to try, is something one player reported in a different forum. It was a conflict between 2 instances of Ubisoft Connect, one installed via Steam, along the game, and the other the Ubisoft Connect app downloaded from the official website.
Please check if you have 2 instances installed and uninstall the one from the website.
Leave only the one from Steam.
You may need to reinstall all, UC and the game.
