As someone who played this game before Steam
1. You cannot play as RDA, you're strictly Na'Vi
2. the world is extremely massive but handicapped on some areas you can't call your flyer, you're forced to use ground animals such as the horses, that's about it.
3. most weapons in the game/gear are pretty garbage in term of variety
4. there's a CASH Shop
5. the game-play is extremely repetitive, go from point a to b capture this base continue to next base.
6. no 3rd person ur stuck in 1st person with the exception of your mount that can be in 3rd person.
7. No companions only your flyer mount and horse mount.
8. the RDA is a joke.... u can steamroll all of them in minutes and in stealth without a hassle.

DLC's are announced and coming but their content might not change much.

Far Cry: The Na'vi is what this game is.

Just a small correction to point 2: later in the game you can fly everywhere; you can also use fast-travel.

I enjoyed the game on PS5, but all these points are correct. I kind of burnt out on the game toward the end and didn't finish it. Maybe the DLC will get me back in, but I'll wait for the reviews first.

you're not wrong, and the other issues which i didn't mention the rep systems with the clans, absolute useless of a feature, and the game takes too long to introduce you to your flyer.

I mean if you don't ♥♥♥♥ around the game gets you your flying mount fairly quick. Heck I ♥♥♥♥♥♥ around A LOT (mostly trying to get to places the game clearly expects you to just use flying to get to) and still only took 3 hours or so. I'd say it takes all of an hour after the game actually gets going for the game to give you the thing if you beeline the main quest rather than ♥♥♥♥ around.

Played 160+ hours.

2: Once you get the flying mount, you can fly anywhere in the lower zone except over the RDA main base. In the upper region of the world you need to complete a simple mission and you can then fly there. There is one area at the NE edge of the upper zone with 'yellow' fog that you cannot fly in, which seems to be part of the lore. Oh, one other very small area.

Overall you can fly pretty much anywhere.

4: The cash shop seems just like the ones I found in the AC games and are cosmetic. Never used or needed to use them.

5: The questing system is pretty much on the same level as ESO for me except no real multi-stages. All of the quests are pretty simplistic. On top of the OP's comprehensive summary, there are search and assist, investigate, cook, find, etc. type missions. Random encounters. Nothing special but similar to many other games. Not an highlight of the game.

6: No issues in 1st person.

8. Agree that the AI is pretty poor for the RDA and the animals. Apart from difficulty level, this is a weak aspect of the game. Not hard to outfox them.

The world of the game feels pretty much like what you see in the original film. Just like many games there is 'copy and paste' of assets but they hide it well except for the RDA outposts/bases and the Na'vi camps. I do still love to explore the world even having completed the base game.

At the end of the day, it is competent but nothing special, except for a gorgeous looking world. And from what I remember, UbiSoft never promised it was the 'second coming' or at the level of Balder's Gate 3 or Elden Ring.

I do feel that while I have enjoyed the game, it could have been so much more.

Yup, my sentiments exactly. It is a perfectly serviceable game that is just different enough from Far Cry that is you are not burnt out of Far Cry you will probably like the game. I will say the plains section ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sucks purely because of the tall grass areas completely blocking you ability to identify things with middle click and enemies being essentially invisible. Is it immersive, yes, but you die really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fast so it isn't fun so I find myself constantly flying so I can see literally anything in those sections of the map.

The plains also introduces more materials that require you to jump through hoops to gather that generally just suck the fun right out of gathering... like having to wait for rain when you found an exquisite plant on top of a mountain. The fact there is no "wait" function but they included this sort of interaction is disgusting in terms of not respecting the player's time.

Due to this oversight and the crashing problems the game is a 6/10 from me, if they could fix the crashing problems (without me having to just set the game to low despite knowing my card can handle more) it would be a 7/10. If you are burnt out on Far Cry the game is a 5/10 nothing bad nothing good game.

Honestly my character's voice is the thing I dislike most about the game. If you select the "male" voice you sound like a child which is dumb because one of the other male children sounds like an adult when the time-skip happens and the other at least sounds better than you. Normally I wouldn't care but your character talks a lot so you notice it.

Awesome recommendation

Do not get me wrong because I love the game for many reasons, but beyond the zone designs (which shows some real love) I cannot understand why it took so long to develop if it was first publicly announced in 2017. It does have bright moments and at the same time it lets itself down.

It is not like it is a deep game and if you remove the Avatar setting, etc. it is pretty 'run of the mill'.

If the community could mod the game it could really be something special.
