2: Once you get the flying mount, you can fly anywhere in the lower zone except over the RDA main base. In the upper region of the world you need to complete a simple mission and you can then fly there. There is one area at the NE edge of the upper zone with 'yellow' fog that you cannot fly in, which seems to be part of the lore. Oh, one other very small area.
Overall you can fly pretty much anywhere.
4: The cash shop seems just like the ones I found in the AC games and are cosmetic. Never used or needed to use them.
5: The questing system is pretty much on the same level as ESO for me except no real multi-stages. All of the quests are pretty simplistic. On top of the OP's comprehensive summary, there are search and assist, investigate, cook, find, etc. type missions. Random encounters. Nothing special but similar to many other games. Not an highlight of the game.
6: No issues in 1st person.
8. Agree that the AI is pretty poor for the RDA and the animals. Apart from difficulty level, this is a weak aspect of the game. Not hard to outfox them.
The world of the game feels pretty much like what you see in the original film. Just like many games there is 'copy and paste' of assets but they hide it well except for the RDA outposts/bases and the Na'vi camps. I do still love to explore the world even having completed the base game.
At the end of the day, it is competent but nothing special, except for a gorgeous looking world. And from what I remember, UbiSoft never promised it was the 'second coming' or at the level of Balder's Gate 3 or Elden Ring.
I do feel that while I have enjoyed the game, it could have been so much more.
The plains also introduces more materials that require you to jump through hoops to gather that generally just suck the fun right out of gathering... like having to wait for rain when you found an exquisite plant on top of a mountain. The fact there is no "wait" function but they included this sort of interaction is disgusting in terms of not respecting the player's time.
Due to this oversight and the crashing problems the game is a 6/10 from me, if they could fix the crashing problems (without me having to just set the game to low despite knowing my card can handle more) it would be a 7/10. If you are burnt out on Far Cry the game is a 5/10 nothing bad nothing good game.
Honestly my character's voice is the thing I dislike most about the game. If you select the "male" voice you sound like a child which is dumb because one of the other male children sounds like an adult when the time-skip happens and the other at least sounds better than you. Normally I wouldn't care but your character talks a lot so you notice it.
It is not like it is a deep game and if you remove the Avatar setting, etc. it is pretty 'run of the mill'.
If the community could mod the game it could really be something special.
