I've only played a couple of Far Cry games, I don't know if that has something to do with it but I love Avatar and the game feels like Pandora to me.
I'm glad it came to Steam so quick. It might have something to do with Epic changing their exclusives payouts. They no longer pay cash for exclusives but they allow devs to keep 100% of revenues for six months. So hopefully this will mean we will see games getting on Steam quicker in the future.
On a crusade here!!!
It was not released as originally planned in December 2022 with the second Avatar movie, due to management/development issues.
After missing that release date, it seems that UbiSoft were pretty much low-key in their campaign to push the idea of the game on the public. No wonder that the general public lost focus/interest on the game prior to it's final launch (1 year late) and since.
Still seems a mystery as to why their PR campaign for the game was so lackluster.
Something they do as standard practice. Same thing with AC Mirage.
Cannot blame them in one way as Steam takes a massive 30% cut from the revenue generated by game sales on its platform. Seems that in the game console world, the percentage is typically only 20%. Nice, easy way for Valve to make money on the backs of others.
Must be hard to see a new project that cost millions to develop and on release get milked by Valve at 30% each copy. Suspect UbiSoft get desperate and try to cash in on the release of a new game before giving in and using Steam.
