id start by doing the main quests until you get your ikran, then do A LOT of side quests!

Normally one just needs to follow a river which trickles right outside TAPs maintenance shaft. That will lead to a vicinity of old fueling station. Not too far from it is a tree where So'lek's resting - he could use a hand.
I don't belive you wouldn't know that already so it must be that rare bug which some people experience - after leaving TAP scripts are not kicking in as they should and people wander aimlessly. For starters try to reload your game and see if that changes anything. Also present some data - your specs, in full.

you could turn on Quest Guided objectives, then press you Navil Vision and you will see a green glowing item that's your quest objective (The quest has to be tracked)

Follow the river stream out and to the right as it opens up you'll see something on fire, go up to it, you should be able to follow a trail of destruction to a fuelling station, the otherside of that station, So'lok is resting up against a tree. It's here where you start the adventure in the game when he gives you a bow and teaches you how to use your Na'vi sense (which is something you'll be using quite extensively through the adventure), you'll identify and gather some sticks and craft some arrows for the bow.

I wouldn't suggest you switch to quest objectives set to exploration, as you'll be spending a lot of time trying to figure out where to go, in some instances you aren't given any instructions and don't know where to continue some objectives you might have. in other objectives the information you are given is vague and could lead you astray.

Having used the quest objectives set to exploration, plenty enough times, some instructions are dead easy to follow and sometimes you can even know where the objective is before you have to figure out the hints it gives you. if you leave it on guided, the objective position will show up on the map so you don't waste a lot of time trying to figure it out if you don't want to. It's a bit of a shame doing it like that considering the world and the exploration and things you can do along the way.

you have to be facing the objective with your senses to see it, but there are times where you reach an objective and have to figure out things by other means to reach the next objective point, for example following a scent trail which is nothing more than a pulsing line that can only be seen though the sense, though it lingers for a short time after the sense is deactivated,

I appreciate the help, but when I go to the fueling station, So'lok isn't resting at the tree at all. He's just not there

Like ive already said its probably a case of missed trigger, scripts.

Specs needed, full, with storage.

And did you checked if reloading game fixes it? Or better restarting it from scratch, since its still a very beginning.

Devs, please share that case with programming department. Problem lies somewhere at the end of the shaft that leads from the TAP to the wilderness. This topic wasnt the first one - there were other examples of missing So'lek and lack of objective. Can't say if its because of playing beneath minimal requirements since OP refused to share any data but either way its worth taking a look. The start of a game is crucial - it must work flawlessly
